Good morning all. It is chilly this morning so my hands are cold. I got up with Jack this morning and stayed up so I paid bills today. Guess if I get tired I can take a nap early this afternoon though I want to get a lot of work done today if I can.
I am fixing what Jack calls mutant chicken, (cornish hens) for dinner with my blend of rotisserie spice on them and some kind of rice dish I think. Haven't decided on veggies yet.
Jean: Looks like winter weather is coming your way. I guess it is time since it is almost November. I have a feeling up north is going to be cold and down south is going to be warm this winter. I just wish the leaves would all fall off the tree. Man, I bet bell practice was hard if your hands were cold from the boilers not being on at the church. My nail salon is Asian as well, but they are inside Walmarts so you usually are hot in there. I am sitting here posting with pictures of desserts next to the thread about food lovers diet. Durn, why do they have to put desserts on their advertisements?
Maggie: Fortune uses the same type of flea meds, but with his top being cut short, it is hard for the stuff to get down into the skin without just rolling off his back. It did better doing it little spots around his neck area where his collar lies. He takes Heartguard for heartworm.
Susan: Wowee Kazowee, you have some quilting schedule. I bet it is nice to be busy though. Sounds like you have a great variety of stuff too.
I have been working on the sock, but I get distracted because I have other yarn in my tote that I keep thinking about what kind of socks I want to make with them! lol I haven't ordered my stuff for my birthday certificate yet. I am in a period of indecision. I want to make sure I get stuff that has softness but strength. Thomas said one of his pairs of socks has holes now but I have knit him several so am not sure which type of yarn it was. The ones he outgrew fast weren't fingering weight one level heavier and I think that is why they didn't stretch. These I am doing now have a nice stretch to them and are really soft.
Well, I need to get going and get some work done. I have been having some allergy issues again so have some on and off headaches which slow me down. I noticed Jack has been a bit more congested lately too.
Have a good Thursday everyone! Faye

I get my flu shot after lunch and then we are heading to Sioux City. I need to exchange clothes I bought for Ian's birthday in Nov. -- it seems he is having a growth spurt. We're going to have supper with Beth and family; I'm anxious to learn about Will's first week working for a trucking company. I think he starts acutally driving with a trainer next week.
A popular prescription, Caduet, that I've taken for awhile, and works well, has been denied by Medicare. My doctor sent in the paperwork to appeal but Medicare still denied it. So now I have to take 2 pills instead of 1, in addition to all the others I take. I'll have to go in for frequent lab work to make sure the new ones are working. If they don't, I don't know what the next step is. Bob just tells me to join the gang that is unhappy with Obama's health plan. I shouldn't complain because prescriptions haven't been covered at all until a few years ago, but I'm growly.
I hope your allergy headache is better. I like Tylenol for sinus and couldn't find it at WM or WG this time. I didn't take time to ask but they've probably pulled it off the market for some reason. Thanks for starting the new thread!
when you mentioned DST ending and you would have an extra hour at the quilt retreat. I see the chair massages set up in the mall at Christmas time and they are usually busy. I can imagine how relaxing that will be after sitting for a long time. Your next week will be another busy one and that's good.
I did see the little WW cheeseburgers at WM yesterday but didn't buy any because I wasn't coming straight home. They do look good.

but I don't plan to marithon this book because there is so much to absorb. He lays out the history and then a plan to fix our current problems. Ronald Regain said back in 1985: "If not us, who? And if not now, when?" Not much going on here this day to speak about ~ mostly the regular cleaning etc. OH ~ we do need to buy a gift for the little girl turning ONE and having a party tomorrow. She is so cute. But aren't all babies. Her mommie is a nurse and her daddy is a misic teacher at a university. I imagine she will have inherited some smarts. Anyway her party is tomorrow and I want to get her a quiet book. You know, one of those made of cloth. I used to make them but don't anymore.
I remember a few years ago cutting out some of the little felt pieces while sitting in the truck up high in the mountains when we would go there to cut wood. We heated both our house and the church building with wood there in WY.
I do hope the ones they substitued do work for you though.
I hope this site isn't have trouble again. The sun is shining, it's breezy, and 63 degrees -- not bad for the end of October. We had a nice supper and visit with Beth and family last night. Will is enthused about his new job so that made our day.
For all of the hospital bills Bob's mom had in the year she was here, Medicare paid for everything except her prescriptions and she had to pay part of those. I was surprised. My dad and "mom" had/have Tricare and can't say enough good about it. She gets her meds in the mail which would make me nervous but she seems to do fine with it.

on your maintain yesterday! You are right that it is better than a gain any day! Thank you for sharing the new WW program article with us. I must admit I don't remember exactly what the 123 program was
(white, that is) I don't buy a lot of food items at SAM's for the same reason you don't. It's usually tp, cat litter, vitamins, etc.
Technology and I don't get along very well. The only thing we pay on our house phone is the federal and state taxes for use of their lines. We bundle the cable, internet, and phone; I have unlimited calling anywhere, anytime in the U. S. Our cell phones are through Bob's business and we never use the allowed minutes on that plan. I just can't seem to hold that tiny phone and talk for a long time.
I text more than I talk. The trucking company that Will will be driving for is the Cadillac company. The drivers all get new trucks when they start driving on their own. They will install a microwave, TV, computer, refrigerator, etc., for him, but he has to buy them first. He will drive with a trainer for 4 weeks, then 4 weeks on his own, and then have a final evaluation. The dispatcher keeps in touch by satellite and can tell if there is some sort of problem with the mechanics, tires, brakes, etc., on the truck, if bad weather is approaching, etc. They will fly him home in case of an emergency and most of the drivers, from where he will be located close to Sioux City, are usually home on weekends. When on his own he will be hauling for Blue Bunny which is all ice cream products. I know that BB is in AZ, but I'm not sure about how far east they go. One interesting tidbit is that if he gets a speeding ticket, he pays the fine and the company is also fined. The trucks are set to go no faster than 65 mph. After the 1st ticket, the speed is lowered to 60 and he is written up. If he gets a 2nd ticket, the speed is lowered to 55 which cuts into his delivery time and pay, and he is put on probation. If he gets a 3rd ticket he is fired, no questions asked. He is excited as he will see country he's never seen before, and make more money than he has in a very long time. His family is "strange" in that he basically raised himself and got into some trouble along the way. His parents make a bigger fuss over his younger and older sister, while his older brother has job hopped over the years. He has told Beth more than once that we pay more attention to him than his own family does, which is sad.

We went to Carrabas which is not too friendly WW wise. I have to say, we had their pomodoro brushcetta and it had goat cheese and it was delicious. It came as plain brushcetta with the pomodoro sauce in a bowl with the slices of goat cheese down the middle. Jack could put sauce on his bread without the cheese and I could put both that way. Jay clued me in on goat cheese when we were in Indiana last time. It is really good. I don't know how fattening it is though. The one thing is basically, I ate my salad and not much else. I got lasagna, but found it to be way over cooked. The noodles were soggy they were so overcooked. I think I ate 2 bites and said ick! I came home and later on made a sandwich.
get together this afternoon. Tomorrow m
Will was telling the butcher that I made such good ricotta cheese bread so I am to make him a loaf to take with us next run for meat at his shop. I don't as of yet have a lot of orders for Christmas gifts but sometimes I get quite a few in this month. I have to then plan on when to do all the building.
