Question about weighing in

  • Do you weigh yourself daily, or do you just wait for your official weigh in day? I have been weighing in every day and now that TOM is right around the corner my weight loss is at a stand still. I was thinking that I might just stop and only weigh in on my official day. What are you all doing?
  • I would really like to weigh weekly, I feel like that might keep me on track a little better than being able to check my weight daily. Unfortunately, I just can't keep myself off the scale!!! It seems to have this force all of it's own that grabs me and pulls me in whenever I'm within 10 feet of it. I'd say for you though, if you aren't influenced by the daily fluctuations, then daily weighing is fine. If you're prone to freak out about them though, I'd go with weekly weigh ins.
  • I weigh every day. Not that I get Flo visits any more but I do still get hormonal weight rises and falls (sorry! It doesn't seem to stop).

It's important to me to know that my body does these things, rather than pretending my weightloss is in a strictly downhill line.

I record every weight in DietPower but I only change my 3fc ticker at whole pounds gone. If I've eaten on extra pounds, I'll be honest and move the ticker back. If I have a weightgain that is purely one of my body's peculiarities, I don't move the ticker.
  • I weigh daily, I can't stop myself either....but I only change my ticker by what my 'official' weight says. My home scale always records my weight as a few pounds lighter, I think its because I weigh in the morning at home and evening at my meetings. I almost want to change to a morning meeting so its more in line but my current meeting works well for me timewise.
  • Jenny I do the same thing. My weight on my ticker is my morning weight. I just keep my WW weigh in to make sure I'm actually going down, b/c my meeting is at night too.
  • Oh see I am doing the opposite but I like your way better! lol My scale this morning actually said I have lost 20lbs- so exciting to see an all new low number, but my weigh in last Wednesday was only 13lbs sigh....
  • I weigh in at the meeting and then one more time midweek so i can see if i need to kick in to high gear. If i see that i am up or not any down i will cut a couple points per diem and up the exercise a little.
  • Well, I'm doing WW at home and I have been actually only weighing myself once a month! I've only been doing it for 9 weeks and recently started sneeking a peek here and there just for motivation. If I feel like I will be tempted, I am very motivated by seeing that scale go down
I'm really trying to lose 1 lb a week and find if I go up at all I get really discouraged and I'm afraid I will throw in the towel. However, I plan to start going to meetings soon, so I guess I will just have to get used to the weekly weigh-ins.
