I thought I'd never... but I did!!!

  • BecomingMaggie inspired this thread

A place for the things you thought you'd never, but now that you look at it... you did!

    I thought I'd never....

    smile while running
    love yogurt
feel sad that I missed my workout because I miss the activity, not because of guilt
seriously consider purchasing a second pair of running shoes for the car just in case the mood strikes me
be on friendly joking terms with the training people at the gym

    what are your accomplishments?
  • I feel sad about not working out too! It's like I was told I wasn't allowed to go outside and play.

I thought I'd never be able to say no to doughnuts or Oreo cookies.

I'm looking forward to busting a lot more of these "I'll nevers."
  • Actually crave vegetables. The first time I craved spinach was mind-blowing, lol.
  • Quote: I feel sad about not working out too! It's like I was told I wasn't allowed to go outside and play.
This is absolutely adorable and I LOVE it!!! Not quite there yet, alas, but I know I will be soon!
  • I certainly never saw myself ditching smoking in favor of running, that's for sure!
  • I love this thread

I never thought I'd be able to..

say no to fast food (repeatedly!)
walk past cookies without grabbing one (or three :P)
become dependent on working out (as a stress reliever)
find a workout I actually love (Zumba!)
  • I crave veggies too!

I can't say I've done it yet, but I'm running a half marathon in 3 weeks and I've run 11 miles at one time so far! That is something I would have never thought I'd be able to do.

I never thought I lose this weight period. I thought I'd have to give into being the wife who just let herself go and couldn't find her way back.
  • ..love oatmeal! :
    ..enjoy Pilates/exercise!
..say "no" to food I used to love to eat!
..I'd lose the weight! I'm getting there!
  • ...lose 50 lbs, much less 65.
...fit back into an old pair of Levi's from my college days. I still won't be able to do that for awhile, but I can pull them up further than I had a few months ago.
  • I never thought I'd:
    - make exercise/diet a priority in my life (everyone now works around my classes!)
    - cook regularly at home
    - learn so much about diet/nutrition
    - change so many of my old habits

I know I'm the same, but completely different if that makes sense. It's not just the weight loss, it's all the knowledge that I have now that I didn't have before.
  • I'd be able to get in and out of that little hole that goes to the crawl space under the house without looking like a dork.

I had to do it a lot after we set our new modular and we were doing the plumbing under the house.
