How do you messure your veggis?

  • Hi everyone...

Well I Do Weight watcher , but I am thinking on Do CC , so get motivate again , and I may reach my original goal of 125 .

On WW salad, tomato's,peeper, carrot ,green bean and more veggies are free , so you do not count them . I am wondering how do you guys **** then, Do you weight the lettuce or measure it in a cup , or just guess .
I am thinking when is to much tomato i can weight it , but what about 1 slice ...
And how do you do like whit pasta .... I hope all this thinking help me to keep going.

One more .... I am 5.1 at 129 pound , I breastfeed a 1 year baby .... by how much calories I can star. I do exercise moderate.

    Thanks
  • For lettuce it's generally 10 calories for 2 cups. I rarely eat 2 cups worth, but I always count it at 10 calories.

For tomatoes and carrots, I count how many I am eating and count grape tomatoes at 2 calories and baby carrots at 4 calories each. I am suprised how much baby carrots add up. I didn't used to ever worry about fruit and veg calories and now I am seeing how much they can be.

I don't use a food scale, but if I had one, i don't see a problem weighing 1 slice of tomato verses weighing the whole thing. Unless you get the weight from weighing it at the grocery store. lol.
  • I weigh my veggies, I'm a little weird that way but I feel that a "cup of shredded lettuce" or "a cup of cut carrots" is something that can easily be over or under estimated and since I count my fiber I like to be pretty close to the actual number to make sure I'm getting enough.
  • I measure by grams. I weigh all my veggies. Go to freedieting.com to check out recommended calories for nursing moms.
  • Wfonseca-I would ask your doctor or a nutritionist how many calories to stick to since you are breastfeeding. If you just take a website's advice you may not get enough and could stop making enough milk. Be careful.

On the veggie calorie counting. I don't count veggies (unless it is something starchy like potatoes). I used to but it is negligible and I just don't keep track of it anymore.
