  • I know there was a 30DS thread here months ago, but I thought I would bring it back. Is anyone else doing the 30DS. I am on level 2.. I am hoping to move to level 3 by this weekend, but will not move on until I can make it through level 2 without feeling like I'm going to die lol. Anyone want to join in for questions/support?
  • I always thought level 3 was easier than level 2....... Hang in there! You can do it!
  • Yeah, I hate Level 2. It's evil. Level 3 is much better.

Anyway- I finished it. Sometimes I pop it in if I'm short on time but want to burn off some steam -but for the most part, it's rather ineffective for me at this point lol.

BUT - it's what really kick-started my weight loss over the summer. Even though I don't really use it anymore, because I've moved onto longer and harder workouts, it will always have a special place in my heart.
  • I tried out Level 1 this morning and I thought it was challenging enough without being too difficult. Some of the movements remind me of the Metabolic Effect class at my gym (which I'm not a huge fan of) so I'm not sure I'll stick with this one.
  • I don't have the DVD's, but I did find Day 1 on my Excercise on Demand this morning and did it. I enjoyed it. I did have to stop 2 times.

For each level, is it the same work out each day? Or is every day different?

It is the same workout each day. I usually mute the TV and turn on my workout mix on my computer. It is exciting to see your improvement from day 1 to day 7. By day 7 I was so excited that I could get through the whole thing without stopping.

I was pretty happy last night. I am on day 4 of level 2 and only stopped a few times. It definitely is a good workout!
  • Yup..I deff. see the different in Day 7 then Day 1. I still motify the jumping jacks for the simple fact that I had a c-section 8 weeks ago and I just don't want to irritate it. but I still believe I'm getting the full effect no matter wat Jillian Michael's says lol. Casey did you ever find a video after the 30DS to start working out with?
  • I am going to try the 30DS again once I get to 150 pounds. I've never done high impact workouts and after two weeks of doing the 30DS I had to quit due to my knees killing me! It took 3 weeks for them to heal and I still have issues with them from time to time. I really do like the workouts and find them quite challenging.

There is "Banish Fat, Boos Metabolism" and "No more trouble zones"

I think I will order both. Once I am finished with the 30DS I am going to get back into running and alternate these videos. I love running, but I wasn't losing the weight quick enough, so I think I really needed the strength training!
  • I also ordered her yoga dvd....I haven't tried it yet though! I'll let you know how it is!
  • Other than 30DS, I do:

    Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism
    No More Trouble Zones
    Yoga Meltdown &
    Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout

in rotation. I love them all for different reasons, but my favorite right now is Yoga Meltdown. It's not your typical Jillian - I like her badass side, but I also find her "zen" side quite entertaining. (I mean... it's not something you would expect from her, but it's endearing) The workout is pretty intense. I don't feel like I get the same cardio effect as if I were doing BFBM, but it really does tone your muscles (especially level 2!!!) and you do still get some cardio in. Lovelovelove Jillian DVDs.

Has anyone tried Shred it with Weights yet? I want to, but she's been recently slammed for her form, and I'm kinda nervous since I can see how kettlebells could be pretty dangerous if not used correctly...
  • I just started with 30DS and Yoga Meltdown in addition to running. I really enjoy them both. I have to admit, I like the Yoga Meltdown a lot better on my flare up days (back pain from a failed disc) because on those days I just can't handle the jumping and bouncing. I'm still on level 1 for both. I'm a little nervous to move up because although I can keep up with level 1, I still find it fairly challenging. They're especially nice when I find myself in a time crunch.
  • I have had the 30DS dvd for months now, but have never done it. I'm going to start it tomorrow. I don't have any weights though. What size weights should someone who is a *total* weenie use to do this DVD? I am truly a wimp. Would 3 pounds be alright?
  • Precieuseamande, I would say that those are good for beginners. Not too light, but not too heavy, either. I recently started 30DS and had never done any weight training previously. At first I used 2 pound weights, but I quickly bumped it up to 3 pounds because I felt I could take a bit more. It's working out fine!
  • im just getting back into my whole workout/eating healthy routine (don't like to use the word diet!) and since i've only gone up to level 2 last time i used the DVDs, im going to get back on it (plus walking my dog more often and getting a gym pass)

so i'm down for a challenge or something!
