On holiday ~ Day #1

  • Just began my little hol today.I decided not to go too far afield until the dogs have died. Sorry if that sounds a bit grim but they're all pushing 15 and I couldn't bear to be living it up in Paris if they died in kennels. So I've come to Haworth - Bronte country - for a few days - I can be at the kennels in 25 minutes if need be.

Got here just after noon. The weather is glorious - just what you hope an autumn day in the country would be: golden, neither hot nor cold, somehow crisp and clean.

I walked (scaled) the main street and had a healthy jacket potato and chili for lunch. I mooched for a bit then ---- went for a walk. Far from the tourists, a real old yomp, Just Because I Could!!!!! The joy in every step was immense. Walking for fun - unbelievable, precious.
  • Great report! Wonderful to think of you tromping around Bronte country!

    Jay
  • Sounds delightful. I'm so glad you're able to enjoy this that much more because of the changes you've made. Enjoy!
  • That street is steep! Impressive work - and a yomp too?? Lovely, lovely day for it. Have a great time.
  • Rosinante, sounds like a relaxing Holiday!
  • Ooh, you should have popped in for coffee/tea! I'm about 45mins from Haworth.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday.
  • Keep the travelouge coming. Perks up my spirits as I work away at my desk.
  • Yes, I enjoy reading it too. And the care for canine companions. I have two that came to work with me today because there was a utility problem in my neighborhood and they made everyone leave for a while.

It was interesting - my dogs are Great Pyrenees, so they are hard not to notice at the office.
  • MMmmmmm I wonder if the Bronte's also loved jacket potatoes with chili. Enjoy those LONG, wonderful walks.

  • Lovingme - I too live only 45 mins from Haworth! Wonder if we're neighbours!
  • Rosi, we definitely could be neighbours lol, but probably we're both 45mins in opposite directions lol.
