
How do you get through the holidays? Do you preplan your meal? Say **** it and eat whatever you fancy? Ect?
Personally, I treat the meal like a tasting. I get a small portion of anything I'd like and go light on the gravy. I also approach it with the "If I'm actually hungry, and need nutrition, I'd want to eat a vegetable" concept. If I don't want that extra serving of green beans, than I probably shouldn't be having the extra serving of gravy and stuffing.
Dessert wise I pick ONE THING, and have a small piece. If your family is anything like mine you have about 1000 desserts to choose from. My mother's pie is some that doesn't get made very often so I tend to pick that.
My one major tip is remember this holiday isn't about the food, its about family and you don't need to eat a whole turkey by yourself to have a good time
