Hi I have the cold , I want to avoid taking any meds but I cant is really bad. Can I take any syrups(liquid med) , or what can i take that doesn't put the diet on risk!

What type of cold? Head? Chest? Nasal? Why don't you post this question in the daily chat where more people, with more experience, might see it?

Ask your pharmacist for a cold medicine appropriate for DIABETICS. It will likely be sugar free or using some sugar substitute. I had a cold and was able to get a cough syrup that was sugarfree.

You can also find cold drops that are sugar free for diabetics. Some will even have a nutrition panel with carb count.

I have always taken extra vitamin c, which will help with the cold, just make sure its not the flavoured chew kind- they have sugar (found out the hard way). I rarely get sick even when everyone else on the planet seems to have a cold, drink lots of water, warm tea, gargle with salt, I used to use an echinnecia (sp?) spray not sure if that would be ok, like I said I dont really get sick anymore
