I had gotten my GKs a couple of guinea pigs in May. Cute little devils. Both were female and a good way to teach my GKs responsibility.
One had developed an "ovarian cyst" and had a rounded tummy thing going on. I talked with my little GD, about it might be a tumor and a little about the cycle of life.
Well as of this morning, that little tumor is now three tiny little guinea pigs grunting and running around. Chasing their FATHER and mother around the cage begging for milk and cause a lot of mayhem at 5:30 in the morning. Explaining a little about the facts of life at 5:30 a.m. is not a good way to start the day.
I hate Petland! The Dopes!!!
I'm trying to get my ducks all in a row for a major hernia surgery. My hernia isn't "normal" according to the surgeon! LOL! What! LOL! Seems my pouch, bladder and bowels won't stay put! I'm putting it off because we have gotten new insurance and I'm trying really hard to see if they will pay to have the extra skin taken off my gut! I see Plastics on Thursday. (Not holding my breath!)
For the hernia: three day hospital stay. Major incision. (DANG IT) THey well be cutting my abdominal muscles (I didn't know I had any!) putting a piece of mesh from hip to hip, reattaching my muscles and putting another huge piece of mesh over that. They will be doing a breast biopsy also. I'm majorly bummed! I'm not going to do it till December, because I can't see the insurance company doing plastics without a fight and that takes time. My surgeon is not happy! He's not happy..........!!!!
good heavens, Nancy!!!! while they're reattaching your muscles, they might as well tighten them up - that'll help. this is a HUGE hernia - wow. and if you put this off until December, will you be able to manage Christmas????
now - about the guinea pigs - are these critters that eat their young???? imagine - now your GKs are going to look at every pregnant woman and wonder if she has a tumor!!!! uh oh!!!
i'm stunned about the surgery.

I saw the plastic surgeon today. I swear....my children are older than him!!!
Now where to begin. Yes, I have a few medical reasons for the skin removal, but because the hernia surgery is going to be so involved he doesn't want to do it now. Not for a year after my hernia surgery. Because (and I do know what he is talking about because of dealing with wounds) I don't heal well, and he wants a good blood supply established before he will go in and remove so much skin. If I don't wait, there is a good chance that my skin flap will die and it will look like raw roast beef and there will be packing, infections and pain in the butt stuff. Seen it, been there, done it with my hyster!!! My hole in the wall is about the size of a softball and today my stupid pouch was making it's way into the world!!!! That explains my nausea and difficulty eating here lately! I asked him about the muscle cutting..and he told me that he will talk with my surgeon and see if he can assist in moving them and securing them better. He told me that most general surgeons will move them a few inches and he can move them a foot! LOL!!!! He pointed out a FEW other place that needed some work. Now lets don't go crazy! Guess, I will just have to wait and see what my federal employed husband's insurance will be in a year...don't want to wait to long because I'm getting old and will be pushed to the bottom of the pack. TMI: But I have a poochy mons!!! DUH! and disgusting. LOL!
One guinea pig to be given away. YEAH! Trying to find someone to neuter the dad that won't cost more than I paid for him. They are eating baby food squash off of a spoon. Momma only has one milk handle. Poor thing!
Well, baby is fussing and I'm hungry.
