Okay, so during the day I do wonderfully. I stay on track and eat 3 healthy, nutritious meals. I don't usually feel hungry or deprived between the hours of 6am-6pm but once late evening/nighttime rolls around watch out! I do not know what it is but I cannot control my nighttime eating. I'm not sure if it's because my body was used to getting so many calories before I started the healthy eating plan so by nighttime it is wondering where all of those extra calories are? I also think that it could be the fact that my fiancee and I usually watch tv/relax in the evenings and sometimes that gets boring, so maybe I'm eating out of boredom?
I would love to hear some input on this and maybe some tips and tricks to avoid the nighttime eating. Thanks a bunch guys!
I still have an issue with eating out of boredom and maybe it will always be a weakness. I try and keep fruit, raw veggies and rice cakes around for when I can't fight it. Also plenty of water and chewing sugar free gum can help. I found it to be similar to when I quit smoking years ago. After winning the battle a couple of nights in a row, it becomes easier. Good Luck!
Oh PS.....I also have a real weakness for beer (esp in summer) and I have found that Hubby and I crawl in bed a litttle earlier and watch tv and play on computers or read. For some reason I don't think about beer or snacks when I'm in bed. May be just a mental thing but works for me. Good Luck
Thanks! I also love beer and alcohol in general. The weekends have been really tough for me because that used to be our time to go out and live it up. We have still been going out but I haven't been living it up quite as much. lol
Maybe you could spread your calories out more and have a planned snack in the evening. If you used to eat while watching tv before, watching tv might be a trigger for hunger. Something with protein in it will make you feel fuller than something else. Water might help as well.
Good luck!
