Hello, new here, never done this before!

  • Hi I am new to posting here or anywhere for that matter! I have been reading many of the posts and thought I should sign up and see if it would help. I am a stay at home mom, with 2 boys, 5 and 3 years old. I've always struggled with weight but since losing my job, having 2 kids and staying home I am the heaviest I've ever been and struggle daily with overeating. I have been calorie counting but fall off the wagon easily. I just feel like tracking everything is so tedious. Trying to get rid of the all or nothing mentality, i.e. just because I had one cookie doesn't mean I blew it and should eat all the cookies! I have to weigh into tomorrow morning and post my weight and pick a goal! Nice to be part of the 3 fat chicks community!
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC.

    Good luck with your goals.

  • Remember, everyday is a new day!! All of us fall, but the key is dusting ourself off and moving foward! You can do this!!!
  • Hi JenJen welcome to 3Fc, we are glad you are here
  • congrats and good Luck!!! Yes it is tedious but that is how I have found most of my success. I use www.fitday.com to track my daily food choices and now that I have most of my custom food in there it isn't soo bad. Again, Good Luck!
  • Welcome Jen! I'm new to this too, but it's very motivating to see other people in the same boat and especially before/after pics. Good Luck!
  • Welcome. I suggest you look for a Support Group or Challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one that inspires you or fits your needs, and just post to join.
  • Welcome and good luck! You can do it!
  • Thanks for all the support! I weighed in today (before I joined I lost 20lbs calorie counting) but have gained 10 back, ugh! It was hard to weigh myself this morning very scared to see what I would find, but it's done and I am moving on. Back to calorie counting. I see there are some support groups/challenges for not binging (this is a huge issue for me) so I will look to join those! Thanks again, all! Have a great day!
  • Welcome JenJen. Nice to see more stay at home moms hanging around! There are alot of calorie counting sites around so definitely try them out and see what fits best. There are other schools of thought out there too about intuitive eating (listening to hunger cues) etc. that work as well so if something doesn't feel right, keep looking. You're worth all that investigation!
  • Welcome and good luck!
