  • This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.
  • Well, despite the scale not budging, I am feeling positive about all of this today. I've been getting my exercise groove back on and it really helps!
  • My scale was good this week - guess it equates to having made good choices. Ticker adjusted too - boy was that painful. Not a great day yesterday and back POP today.
  • Heather- glad your feeling good and getting exercise in daily again. I missed a few days of exercise but will got in some walking yesterday.
Carol- thanks for the kick in the butt a few weeks bad...i feel so much better!!

My waist is coming back...I can see it again!!
Hubby got home yesterday from the hospital but his glucose was thru the roof last night. Back to healthy eating for him today. If his levels are still too high by friday its time to call the dr back.
  • Debbie -- A waist!! What a great NSV!! Glad to hear your husband is home...

Carol -- I'm proud of you!

Yesterday was good eating and food... today I need to make myself workout at home.
  • Heather_ I am a pear shape so when I lose my waist its a really bad thing. I carry all of my weight in my hips and thighs and lower apron area.
Glad eating was OP yesterday. Im doing good with eating but its harder with hubby not wanting to eat right. Maybe a grill full of food will help him today.

We still have had no rain. I dont ever remember going so long with no rain. The grass is dead but the weeds still grow. My flower pots are dead also. I do see signs of my mums starting to bloom. I guess I will get 2 and replace the pots on my steps.
Fresh cantaloupe for breakfast...a neighbors has done great this year.
  • Heather - it was one of the hardest things I've done to adjust that ticker.

Debbie - so hot and dry here too - my pots are still going strong - water bill is showing it.

Had plans to go to the lake for a few days - that fell through - will need to make some plans to stay busy to avoid grazing.
  • It's so funny to hear you all talk about no rain... we've had so much! But I think I will have to water the garden today...
  • If only the lack of rain equated to lack of mosquitoes - they love me!
  • Hi girls...im over the 40 mark...42 to be precise...initially weighed 379 pounds and now weigh 251 pounds I have become a lil bit of a gym junky thruout this journey...im battling a cold at the moment...but still went into the gym today did a 15 minute warm up and a hour PT session of core work and resistance work. (And i have very sore butt cheeks now!lol)

Im in australia...so coming to the end of winter for us...am dying for spring to come...im so looking forward to wearing lighter, prettier clothes this spring and summer!
  • Kazz - your blog spoke to me about 3 years in and still so far to go. Seems like as I come up to the third anniversary of taking care of me I've done a great job maintaining - time to head on down. You also mentioned a block of being under a certain weight - I think my block is hitting 100 lbs gone - been close and then seem to sabotage and gain about 10 lbs back - fingers crossed that the mindset has changed - lots of stern chats with myself.
  • kkazz- welcome! We are having breaking high temps here in the low 100s. heat index yesterday was 121. Im so ready for temps in the 80s.
heather- we had thunder all afternoon yesterday and the skys were black but only a few rain drops fell. I so want to sleep with it raining all night long. My poor peppers and eggplants need a good steady rain.
Carol- I saw where you are getting cooler temps...please share with me.

Was exhausted yesterday and we ordered pizza hut...MISTAKE!! Next week I will do a crock pot meal when grandkids spend the night.
  • I can so relate to the mental block issue. I will break the 100lb mark.
  • Debbie - yes cooler - means only 102 today. I love the heat but I'm ready for a break from it - the pool is like bath water.
  • It rained! And it cooled off 30 degrees in less than an hour - yep - it was a big ole storm. Today's high only 97.

Calories were high for me yesterday but every bite accounted for - high by my standards at least - I try to stay under 1800 and I was at 2500 (about what the charts say I should eat). Today lots of water to flush out the sodium in the smoked meat.

Back to the gym for me yesterday - didn't have much time so I did a little over 3 miles on the treadmill and called it a good start. Found fresh halibut in the fish market yesterday - looking forward to it tonight - I'm sure it won't be like I had in Alaska but will be awesome just the same.
