I didn't see this thread until I had posted on the introduction one. Its nice to find others in the UK.
Hello from the English side of Welsh borders UK. I hope I can get a bit of support because I am about as down and depressed as it is possible to be. I lost 5 stones (70lbs) on the Cambridge Diet, but when I came off it, put it all back on over 3 years and now, following the death of our daughter (we had been her carers for 32 years) I have eaten like a horse and am now at a massive 17st 12lbs (250lbs) I have got to grip with myself over the last 2 weeks and have managed to lose 5lbs. I'm walking more, having 3 meals a day, no convenience foods and making myself sit down and enjoy food. I make myself chew it well and take it slowly.
I hope I meet others like myself on here
Hello and welcome Jojo.

Hello Jojo!
My goodness-it sounds like you have been through a tremendous time indeed! I am so very sorry for your loss.
It is no surprise that you might turn to food during such a stressful and difficult time. Sometimes we must do what we must do to get through.
It takes much time and support for us to learn new ways to deal with stress and pain-and even then..the temptation may return for a visit.
I just wanted to say welcome and hope to see you round here more! I am also new to the Chicks site-and I am new to the UK too! I moved here from USA last year.
Hang in there and see you around!

Thanks WTW I'm sure I'll find all the help I need here, there are such lepful and supportive threads around and such a warm friendly bunch of posters
Welcome to 3FC Jojo! It's nice to see someone else from the UK here, who talks in stones and pounds!
I'm really sorry to hear about your daughter. As WTW said, the way you responded is so understandable, and I think it's great that you're starting to get to grips with things now. My mum died when I was 11 years old, and a few years after that I became obese as I used to massively over-eat (binging a lot on food in secret). I'm 24 now and feel I've come to terms with things much more, and my relationship with food has really changed, but I just want to say I really can empathise with changing the way you eat in response to traumatic and stressful events, and major changes in your life.
Congratulations on losing 5lbs in two weeks, almost half a stone, that's brilliant! It's so encouraging to see that sort of progress, as well as knowing how successful you have been with weight loss in the past.
I hope you enjoy the forums here, and find them as helpful and supportive as I have.
