Good day, all!

  • Hi, everyone. I'm new to 3FC, and was highly impressed with my wanderings though the forums... everyone seems to be supportive, informative, and well, the kind of folks I want in my life.

I'm making good progress towards my goals, having lost 67+ lbs since January 2010. I'm following a program run by my gynecologist (who happened to have degrees in nutrition and the like). I've jokingly said the program is low-fat, low-carb, low-sugar, low-food... but it really is working.

Exercise is really my hurdle. There are just so many other things I'd rather be doing than mindlessly going nowhere on a treadmill. I do force myself, but the "force" part is frustrating.

So... that's me in a nutshell. Looking forward to participating!
  • hey there! have you tried some exercise classes? finding something you enjoy really helps! dance classes, aqua arobics, yoga... there are lots of options out there. even some fun work out DVDS!
good luck in your journey and congrats on your success thus far!
  • New too!!
    Good Afternoon,

I actually just joined this site today and just like you while browsing the forums found everyone seems to be so supportive.

My story is not so original in that after highschool with the drinking, eating and NO activity I have gained about 60 lbs (shamefully) BUT i have started working out and changing my diet and have lost about 15 pounds my first month and a half. I am now 23, 5'7 and 200 lbs. I realize that I have a WAYS to go(about 50-60 lbs) but Im SUPER focused! lol...I actually enjoy working out but the eating healthier is what is harder for me, so I thought I would join here to get the advice and guidance from other people going through the same thing.

To be honest, I've never actually been on a "diet" SOOO I'm looking for ways to substitute healthier foods. Ive been trying to stay away from white rice, bread and sugar, eating more veggie, fruits and grains but its getting SO boring. I used to also be a HUGE soda drinker and have cut it out completely but also looking for other drinks besides water that would be ok. I don't mind cooking so any recipes or helpful hints from anyone??

    Thanks is advance!!!!!!!

(I know my reply was soooo long lol, but i need the HELP)
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC.
