I know it's possible for your shoe size number to be smaller after losing weight, but what about the width? I'm a 10 Wide; will my big fit ever be able to be a medium or what it's called?
This may not be a very helpful answer as I don't understand shoe width fittings (and don't know what my width is!), but my shoe size went down (1 to 1 1/2 sizes smaller!), and I'm pretty sure that most of this was actually width. I'm pretty sure that when I was heavier, I had to buy larger sizes of shoes just to get the width to fit me.
I still have wide feet, but having lost a lot of weight, the width is definitely less, which I guess makes sense as there is less "spreadage"!
I went from a 8 wide to a six normal! Woohoo! I have also discovered that my poor feet have bunions. Something I will have to take care of later down the road, it's nice to know that my chubby feet were cushioning them for me during my overweight days.
i'm so excited about this! i didn't know your feet could possibly get smaller. now i'm an 11w, always wanted smaller feet cause it hard to find cute shoes that size.
My feet went down a size after losing 50lbs (size 9w to size 8n) as well as getting narrower! I had bought some beautiful, expensive shoes at this amazing sale before I lost the weight and now they don't fit . Small price to pay overall though!!
I haven't noticed any difference in my shoe size. Wide feet actually run in my family, and I, apparently, have a high instep, so I have always been 8W. Even when I started gaining weight that never changed, and now that I am losing weight it still hasn't changed.
When I initially lost weight a few years ago my shoe size went from a 10.5-11 W to a solid 10 normal (occasionally 9.5). I was surprised because wide feet run in my family.
I lost weight once before (and got down to 150). I am the same size now that I was when I was at 150 (size 9 1/2 - my Grandma has big feet and she is skinny, so I guess I got it from her).... My feet are not chubby or anything (even at my size), so I just don't gain weight in my feet, I guess. However, I find it interesting that some go down in sizes! Very neat!
