Having a rough time!

  • I'm on day three of IP and it's been really hard.

Not only am I craving everything but I'm really emotionally devastated at the moment. I found out this morning that my grandmother, who I was really close to and loved dearly, has passed away.

So I really just want to sit in the kitchen and eat all the comfort foods we have in the house (and we have A LOT). But I don't want to do that, especially since I've only just begun this diet.

My boyfriend suggested making IP allowed comfort foods. But since I'm in phase one, I'm having a hard time on sorting through recipes.

Any recipe ideas would be wonderful right now.

I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My sympathies go out to you and your family.

Grief is a very difficult emotion. It is also a big reason we want comfort.

So, what have you been craving? What do you consider comfort food? Let's see if we can help. In the meantime, remember to take in all your water, salt, and your omega oil. Have your 3 or 4 ideal protein packets today along with meat, 4 cups of veggies, and 2 salads. Spread that out during the day if it helps you to control cravings.

  • I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you have lots of support at this time.
Do everything you can not to give in to the temptation. It will only make you feel worse, when you are done. I realize that it is easy for me to say, so do your best
If you like rhubarb pie, then this might help. Get either fresh or frozen rhubarb. The frozen is already chopped up, so you can just pop it in the microwave for about 7minutes, then check it, go by 2 min increments then to see once it is mushy and warm. Once done, just add some Splenda, or Stevia, sit back and enjoy...it feels totally decadent.
If you have fresh stuff, then just reduce your cooking time.
    Wishing you all the best
