New to ideal protein diet-14 days-looking for support and advice.

  • I am on day 14 of the Ideal Protein Diet, need to lose 46 pounds. Have followed instructions from doctors office 100%. Others are having much higher weight lose than I through 14 days I have lost just 6.6 Lbs compared with other people who started when I did have lost 11-14 during the same time period. I am disabled at a young age (back) and am on heavy narcotics. (Morphine and percocet) Do you think they are holding back my weight loss or am I doing ok so far?
Looking forward to getting to know all of you, what a great community to share success and frustration and help each other. Thanks.
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC.

  • Thanks & Congrats
Wow, you have done a great job improving your health all the way around. The quitting smoking is a real life changer. I quit for 7 years and restarted. I decided I just as well quit again while dieting as it will not cause the weight gain I had when I quit before. Congrats on all of your achievements.
  • Hi and good luck with your journey to weight loss. Sorry I do not know much about that diet.
  • I am on week 3...Lost 6 my first week and 3.6 my second...has anyone noticed what works to get upt to those 5 a week losses??? I follow it to a tee...speed walk at lunch. : )
  • I notice with IP that at first it was really rapid then it slows right down...my first month I was down 13 lbs, my second month 5 lbs then .5 a week some weeks no change at all... Never gained but some weeks no loss either. Just stick with it and if u slow down up ur water intake. Good luck!
  • Welcome!!

There is a section under Diet Central for IP on the main page. I'm sure someone there can offer some insight.

  • Just started IP today. I am interested in hearing your take on the journey. You are not in it alone. You have made thru the first 14 days. I am trying to make it through the first one. I do not know much - except that by reading the posts here - this program can be done successfully. I guess that surviving is winning.
