  • Up and at em ladies, I have the coffee, on--be back in a minute to get myself a cup!

    Miss Miree decided that she needed to wake me up at 5:30 this morning--YAWN! Coffee is nice and strong!

    Off to drop in this morning for the usual energy burn off. I made a new plastic cover for the paint easel at drop in, the one they had was old, ripped and tattered. Definitely had seen better days!

    I tried out my new mini sewing machine and gee it's really good! I have to get used to threading the bobbin, a skill I'm still not too sure about. I hemmed my drape and it looks marvelous! Definitely worth the buy if you're a novice like me.

    Hope you all have a great day!
  • Good morning, Chicklets.

    My company is gone - what a lovely visit!

    Today is going to be an awful day! I have so many things to do before the operation tomorrow AND today is also a clip Lucy Day - the only one the groomer had free!

    I will be doing one-handed keying after tomorrow morning. I'll lurk but posting is gonna be slow. I am NOT looking forward to the next weeks!

    Be good.
  • Good Morning Ladies
    I'm up early because I have a doctors appt this morning. Because of the chemo drug that I take for psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis I have to be monitored closely. I had my blood work drawn the other day and today I will find out if my body is toletating the drug without complications. Yesterday I did get some of my energy and stamina back and got my exercise work out done as planned. It felt good

    The other day at work a friend told me that the best I ever looked was when I was doing Body for Life. And she is right! And I know it because I exercised 5-6 day a week and ate a balanced diet of protein/carbs. Before I started BFL I hated exercise. But after a few weeks of sticking to the program, i came to love it. I have slacked off the past few months and it shows in the mirror and how I feel about myself. I'm determined to be disciplined again. I've done it before, I can do it again!!!!

    When I set my goals for Boot Camp it will not include a goal weight amount. I am sticking to making lifestyle changes such as food, exercise, water, etc. If I am successful, the fat will go away.

    Pooky~~Once you get the hang of sewing, you will love it. Think of all the things you can make for Miree and yourself. My Mom taught me to sew when I was in gradeschool and I made most of my clothes in high school.

    Ruth~~~I'm glad that you had a chance to enjoy your visit with your friend before the surgery. I hope that the surgery goes well and is relatively painless. We know that you won't be able to post for awhile, but please know that we are praying for you to have a speedy recovery. Take care and good luck.

    OK ladies, wake up and get the coffee. It's a brand new day Enjoy it.

    ~~~
  • Morning Ruth, Pooky and all to come!
    Pooky, thanks for the coffee, I do need it this AM, the butt is dragging big time. Threading bobbins, something I hate to do, I don't sew very often, and it is not a hard job, just don't like to do it.
    Ruth, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Your one handed typing will still probably be faster than my two handed typing
    Any word on when Hershey will be home? If Miss Lucy is alone with you much longer she will not be happy to see Mom come home.
    Anyone watch the new Dr. Phil show? I have flipped to it a couple of times. I really like him, but can only take him in small doses. I read on another board that today he will be doing a show on obesity, how society reacts to it. Not sure I will be able to watch it, it's on at 3 in my area, I'll be at...............you guessed it band practice!!!!
    Any chicks in the New Orleans, LA area? If so, how are you holding up following Isidora?
    We are scheduled to have lots of rain and maybe thunderstorms this afternoon from the outer bands of the storm.
    Coffee cup is empty, must get it refilled!!
    Have a good day all
    Debbie
    Sil, you snuck in there on me. Don't you just love our cooler temps??
  • Hey everyone! Sorry to be MIA lately, just busy as heck. Why is it the same 24 hours are so productive for some people, and I feel like I'm spinning my wheels most of the time? Anyway, it's gotta change soon, or I'm going to be an insomniac trying to get the cleaning done. UGH!
    Ruth, take care of yourself, and I hope your surgery brings your hands back to their former glory! Praying for your recovery.
    Everyone else, I would love to post to you, but gotta finish getting ready for work. Need more caffeine!! Talk to you later.
  • Good Thursday Morning Chickies!
    Just a quick check-in today!
    Ruthie I will be thinking of you tomorrow, best of luck and prayers for a swift recovery with great results.
    luv you all!
  • oops!
  • Hurricane Party! I'm in the middle of a hurricane. Makes for a fun drive to work. It's actually not too bad at the moment. Being at work is better than being at home where the cable/internet is out. LOL Gotta go to a staff meeting, I'll be back later.
  • Good luck Ruth! Take it easy so you will have a swift recovery!
    Dyan, you're much calmer in hurricanes then I am! Well I was only in one actually and I sat on the panic button for days. Is there a hurricane in Florida too? I need to watch the news more!
  • Morning!
    Cold and rainy here today!!! Hope you Southern gals are keeping your heads above water.
    Just came back from taking mom to the bakery (none for me)drug store and the farm market (sorry jiff....lots and lots of stuff). Bought myself some new hair dye and a new book.
    Made one of the snowmen yesterday and he is adorable, so maybe just one or two more (????) Would love to go not craft shopping with you gals!!!
    Pooky, thanks for the info on that little sewer! I think that I will get one if and when I see them in the stores. For the small amount that I do sew it should be perfect and better than lugging out the old antique one I have.
    Ruth, sweetie, hugs and all the good stuff coming your way for you surgery tomorrow...every thing is crossed for ya!
    2B....keeping all things crossed for you too!!!! Hoping that your blood work comes out ok and I like what your wrote about your goals for the boot camp.
    Hey Debkay! loved the band pictures!!!! Is your friday night game going to be rained out tomorrow? What kind of cookies....and what the heck to you do with the cookies if the game gets cancelled? Joey?
    Hey Good...will you promise me something? Please DO NOT give up sleep to clean. That just seems like a HORRIBLE thing to do!
    Jenny! OOPS to you too!!!!! Been thinking about your boys, my boys and I am finding that I am enjoying the heck out of them at this age. Picture day today (and this is another reason for dh to get a JOB) He and the big kid thought there was nothing wrong, in fact they thought everything was RIGHT that the kid wanted to wear a wrestling shirt for his pictures. I lost that battle btw
    Dyan! becareful driving!!!!! I like a good storm, but I remember sitting through a hurricane at the shore when I was little (hmmm Camille?) and it sure was scarey!!!!
    Hey Jennifer!!!! Love the jounal function you and your sisters put on the site! Thank you!
    hey to everyone!
  • I'm back. We've been without power at my office for 3 hours. The hurricane wasn't much more than a big rainstorm, but it caused several tornados in this area. I'm 9 blocks from the Gulf of Mexico, on the FL/AL border. When I was transfered here, I had no idea where Pensacola was in FL. I thought I'd be able to go to Disney World on day trips. LOL I'm much closer to New Orleans, it's only 200 miles away. Anyway, the rain is over, the sun is shining, and I'm still OP even though we had sandwiches catered in for today's lunch meeting.
  • Ruthie of the XXX's - I will be thinking about you and sending prayers and good/healing vibes your way tomorrow. Take care and let us know how you are doing.
    I think someone asked about Curves yesterday, didn't they? I love that place - I feel so much better (and better about myself) when I go there regularly! Now, its not for the hard-core exerciser. If someone is used to a MEGA workout with much sweat, etc., they will think Curves is whimpy BUT if you HATE to exercise like I do, then check Curves out!
  • Thanks Kel,
    I joined today. A really good special. It is better than nothing. I do my cardio in the am and while the kids are at karate I can go do that for 30 min. It is a little whimpy, but I did sweat and I hate the gym stuff because i have to do too much adjusting so it takes too much time.
    Ruth, good wishes to you. My DH's grandmother, now 94 had it done about 10 years ago and she made a FULL recovery. You are ornery just like her......
    I am getting my hair straightened in the morning. A 4 hour process but I only have to do it once a year. The bummer is no workout because I can't wash for 3 days and I can't put elastics or baretts in because they make marks...aww don't you feel baddly for me...lol
    Night all, have a good Friday.
