what about Greek NF yogurt??

  • any chance it can be subbed for cottage cheese as a protein? it's so low cal and 0 fat and high protein...I'm new but LOVE greek yogurt and it would help me stay on plan...
    TIA,

  • It's still dairy, as is cottage cheese. To be a serving of lean protein, you need about 22 grams.
  • Too many carbs.
  • from medifast1.com on my meatless options sheet it lists 1% cottage cheese as a leanest protein option..is that not right?

my 1% cottage cheese stats for 1 1/2 cups is:
    cal 270
    fat 6g
    carb 12g
    protein 42g

and the FF Greek yogurt for 1 1/2cups is:
    cal 180
    fat 0g
    carb 13.5g
    protein 30g

is the protein not high enough on the yogurt? I was thinking of having 1/2 c or 1/3 of my L&G protein with my lunch and reducing my protein at dinner...

  • Yes, cottage cheese is a protein option. Greek yogurt is not.

If you want the official Medifast 'word' on it, go to the mymedifast site and there is a thread for questions to be answered by nutritionists. You can ask there and get an official answer.
  • I LOOOOVE Greek Yogurt so let me know what you find out!
  • Well my friend asked at her MF center today and her counselor girl told her she could not have cottage cheese and where did she hear that? I wonder why the centers are different than MF online..anyhow I guess officially you can't have it but I might have to have 1/2c. now and again...
  • Cottage cheese is on plan. The center person was mistaken. You can find the complete, official Lean proteins allowed list on the Medifast website.
