Moanday/ First day of FALL!!!

  • UGH have a head cold. I hate that.

    Coffee is on.

the exercise is on hold till tonight when i will be there for the kids swimteam so i will exercise then. I will probably run. So I will be good. I will be total OP today and for the rest of the week to clear my system out for the boot camp!!!

    MMMM the coffee is good.

I still have visions of yesterday. NOT GOOD. They did a good job considering the kid was ejected from the car. His mom was holding up good. I think i was worse than she was. I remeber the child when he was ready for his first day at school. Waiting for the bus. He was just finally getting his life together after several wrong turns. How sad.

    Well enough on that.

I am starting to do a total FLY for the prep of this kid comming tothe house. (german exchange student)

Speaking fo the house. UGH i must run i have no milk. i need some for breakfast!!!

    Catch you all later
  • Morning,
Sue so sorry about your friend. I hate viewings. I have only been to 1 and it followed with a lot of liquor.

Good weekend. All of DH's cousins were home form California and Africa. I could't score a sitter last min. so not going out for me...but I sent him anyway.

Dinner out with friends Saturday, and I managed a so so workout, so I took the day off yesterday.

Off the gym this am after kid drop off, then to get a palm pilot. DH's cast off has hit the skids and i have found I use it all the time.

Good day chickies and thanks for the coffee Sue, BTW feel better.
    -L
  • Morning All!!
Sue I'm so sorry to hear about your friends son.

Pooky, congrats on the pounds down!

dottie, YES!! I'm watching Survivor again this year. I even talked my sister into watching it this time around, she has never understood the whole Survivor thing. If ya watch it, your hooked!

Hubby and I went to the Brave's game yesterday. We had four tickets, (given to us by hubby's company) we thought about taking 2 of the kids or asking friends, but decided we wanted to go alone. It was so nice. Last year at this time I would not have been able to walk easily from the parking area to the stadium and to our seats, much less fit in the seats. I did the walk with ease, we even did extra walking, as this was my first time setting foot into Turner Field. The seats, I FIT, with room to spare! All that I went through with my surgery is so paying off now. Shhh don't let my hubby hear me say that, he is still not convinced.

More band stuff tonight. Tonight the bands in the county get to perform for each other. It's just a way for the band members to see the half time shows from the other schools. Hubby and I are chaperoning, and I am NOT making cookies this time.

I feel really cranky today, think I may be pms'ing. I don't normally get like this, but I feel like I could bite someone's head off.

On that happy note.....have a great day all!

    Debbie
  • Hello everyone! Had a really great weekend! Went out with the girls Saturday night, put on a pair of jeans I bought at Easter. They were my size (18) but I couldn't get the button closer than 4 inches away from the buttonhole. Now, I weigh more (I'm confused!!) but they fit with a little breathing room. What in the world is going on?????? It looks like my fat has migrated from the rear to the front, but pants are fitting? Oh, well, maybe it was a fluke, but I'll take it!

Gotta go get ready for work, just wanted to check in. Congrats on going to the game, Deb, great to see you doing something fun with hubby. And what a great feeling, huh? You go girl!
  • Morning everyone..... Sue, don't drink all that coffee!! Save some for me PUHLEEZE! Ah Sue, so very sorry about your friend's son - it is so hard to lose the kids - our friends' son was run down by a car (deliberately) in a parking lot last year - 1 week BEFORE HS graduation, a terrible terrible tragedy.

Yesterday was a loooong day: home depot first thing to pick up brackets, shelving and all that good stuff for my new pantry. We got started putting them up and then (since I was mostly annoying DH anyhow ) I went to help out at a fundraiser miniature golf tournament for The Ministries. When I came back, the long wall of shelving (13 feet starting at the end of the window) was just about done. The alcove at the far end and 2 more short walls still need to be shelved, but WOWOWOW! I HAVE A REAL PANTRY!! Can you tell I am excited?? Already we put away everything that was in the pantry cabinet in my kitchen, as well as the stuff that was "extra" and stored in the basement (like when you go to Costco and buy a case of green beans!) Also, the appliances that don't get used every day that I DON'T want on the countertop (toaster oven, ice cream maker, crock pot, elec frying pans, etc) and tons more! And the best part is, I still have lots of room! Now, if I can only get dh to keep it NEAT!!!

L - you're a good wife to "send" dh to visit while you stayed home to babysit!

Deb- glad you enjoyed the Braves game (and you KNOW I won't say anything about the team!!! ) and, most especially, WAYTOGO on doing that walk! If it's anything like the one from our parking lot into the stadium and then to find your seats..... well then, that is quite an accomplishment for you! Consider this crown to be a gold star for you!

Sherrie - you snuck in on me here.......ladies' sizes in clothes are so weird, I no longer try to figure them out! I really need to buy some stuff, but since I wear scrubs to work and just "whatever" at home, I am trying to wait until I have more work (and so, more $$$ to spend!!) to get stuff. Especially since I hope that what I buy won't fit for more than a couple of months!!!

Well, have a great day everyone.....
  • Good Morning one and all!

Sue, I'm so sorry about your friend's son, extending my best wishes to her and her family

L, Africa!? Wow, sounds like a wonderful trip! I'm sure your dh's cousins could tell some great stories.

Deb, cranky is my middle name so don't worry about it!

Sherrie, I have a pair of size 18 pants hanging in y closet for me to fit some day. I wonder if I'll ever get there??

SamsG, congrats on the pantry! Nothing liek getting all the clutter out of the way

Been a busy beaver already this morning, up, showered, took Miss M to daycare and stopped by the lab to do some blood work. Having my coffee and then it's off to disaster management for the house (i.e. pick up after the weekend with everyone here!)

Bought myself a little present on the weekend that I'm stashing from dh becasue I don't want to get in trouble I got one of the those little sewing machines, the portable kind? You see them on TV all the time. Well, our local Zellers had them on and I whizzed out and bought it. Now I just have to figure our how to use the thing and oh yeah, maybe learn to sew? I couldn't sew my way out of a paper bag if my life depended on it right now. But hey, why invest a couple of hundred bucks on something I may never learn to use? At least this way I can get some pants hemmed!

    Have a good one!
  • Thought I was being really smart getting up early so I'd not be late for the 9:00 wa class, but... did I ever get a suprise When I got into the Den (where Alvin sleeps in his chair) I found Alvin was not only awake with the coffee made, He had been out walking!!!

Debkay: you say your DH isn't sure your surgery experience was worth it, but I bet he does!!! Words can't possibly express the pride I feel for every little accomplishment Alvin makes. I'm glad you enjoyed the ball game experience. Alvin is excited that he is planning to go to some of the STARS (hockey) games. DS#2 has season tickest and has asked Alvin many times, but for all the reasons you mentioned, he hasn't gone. Now he's excited about going.

Well dad has an apt with the kidney specialist today, and we're anxious to see if the put him on dialysis right away. Then he has an apt with his new internest at 1:00. My sister from CT decided to sayt through Wed. I sure am glad.

Well if I don't get on the exercise bike, I'll end up being late to my 9:00 class. Have a great day everyone.
  • Happy First day of Fall! One of my favorite times!

Had a nice weekend. Busy on Saturday with soccer and parties. Sunday, after church, I was feeling a bit grumpy, so I laid down for a bit and I ended up sleeping for three hours! I felt much better, must have needed it.

Sue, so sorry about your friend's son. That is way too sad.

Debkay, sounds like you had a wonderful outing with your dh!

Goodforme, interesting story about the jeans, but at least they fit!

Samsgrandma, a PANTRY, I am sooooooooo jealous! You are one lucky chickie!

Barb, you snuck in while I was posting, hi ya!
    HAVE A GREAT OP DAY!
  • Boo again !
  • haven't read any posts yet...
    just a quick observation, though:

what can a person say about a workplace in which half the workers wear black on monday?????
  • Quick hi to all

I think black is always appropriate for MournDay!

Home early to check on the contractor- replacing my cabinets and giving me a dishwasher. Got to love a man that can give you what you need!

things are going well, so I'm just going to put on the tv and VEG!

    see ya's later
    dottie
  • It's fall already? It's 96 degrees here again today, so I'm not feeling very fall-like. Although I did "fall" off the wagon and eat a piece of Dirt Cake that DH made. (evil, evil man) He actually used some LC/SF substitutes, but how do you substitute Oreos? Had to bring the dratted thing into work to day and pawn it off on co-workers. 1 piece for me and I feel lousy, the blood sugar spiked and dipped, now I'm drowsy. Oh well, co-workers think I'm the greatest for sharing. lol little do they know I'm killing them off slowly.
  • Evening!

Dh is up stairs giving the little guy a bath getting him nice and sparkly for his pictures tomorrow. That kid takes such and nice angelic picture, honestly, I know he is mine but he is just too darn cute.

The big kid went to the dentist today to get a cavity filled. hahahahahahaha....like THAT was gonna happen so off soon to the specialist who will either finesse him (I don't think so) or knock the kid out Hate the thought of that.

Not much new...went to the salvation army and got the little guy 3 pairs of almost new jeans for $4. I think I just like the hunt of going there and finding "stuff" Sat and gabbed with a friend of mine who I have not seen for a while.

Stayed op after a very non op weekend. Managed to lose a pound on friday though...grateful for that.

just wanted to stop in, say HEY! read you all and sending you all good vibes and good junk!

    later,
    peach
ps....I bet a certain someone could fit in the seats in the Bronx!
  • Sue I just caught up on yesterday's posts. So sorry about your friend's son. What a tragedy! Sorry about your cold too. How can you run when you feel lousy? When I'm sick, nothing gets done.
Debbie good for you fitting into those stadium seats. WOW! I'd say the surgery has paid off for sure.
Goodforme that is fantastic that you could wear those size 18 jeans. No matter how it happened, just enjoy. Your exercising has probably toned you up.
Samsgrandma I'm so jealous of your pantry. I have nobody but myself to blame as I worked closely with a draftsman designing our house. Somehow I cheated myself on kitchen space in order to get a living room that we rarely use because we live in the family room. Consequently, my kitchen counters are crowded with small appliances, every drawer and cabinet is stuffed to overflowing and I have extra stuff stashed in the laundry room cabinets and other cupboards out in the garage. Wish I had it to do over again.
Um...Pooky.... how you gonna explain all the new curtains, pillow covers, CLOTHES, etc that you'll create with that new little sewing machine? I think the cat will be out of the bag. Why don't you sign up for evening sewing classes. I don't do a lot of sewing but I can't imagine not being able to. Everything I buy has to be altered in some way. Some new tops I just bought in May are beginning to gape at the neck and fall off my shoulders so they will require a major remodeling. I'm not looking forward to that because I hate insetting sleeves, but no way will I go out and buy new clothes when these are nearly new.
Ageoldie , your Alvin must really be feeling chipper these days. Imagine being up already and just getting back from a walk. Makes me ashamed. Good for you for getting on that exercise bike. Mine sits there sneering at me whenever I poke my head into the guest room. I just say "yeah, yeah".
Oh gosh, I've run out of time before running out of people.
It's been another gorgeous day here. I should have been outside gardening but other duties called me. Thank goodness, because I'm still all stiff and achy from ODing on gardening over the weekend. Moved lots of plants around and weeded. It's never-ending. This morning I went to the pool to try to swim away the kinks so I've been pretty tired all day.
Still OP on Fat Flush. No major weight loss but clothes feel looser.
  • Sue, I'm glad the viewing is over for you. A boy that lived in my neighborhood with the Ex died a couple of years ago, and that was hard for me, even though I couldn't stand him! He was not a nice kid at all, vandalized, stole, etc, but still to know he didn't get a chance to change was hard.

SG, I am envious! Oooooooh, somewhere to put my goodies, the thought of it is wonderful! Mom has a big pantry, but she found that the more space she has, the more she fills it up, so she has about 3 times the space as me, but she is cram packed!

Dyan, you're too funny with your sharing stories!

I stayed on plan perfectly all weekend and today, but Rob accidentally torched dinner, so we ate last minute chinese buffet. I was a very good girl. I ate totally on plan except for one small eggroll, and one piece of sesame chicken. Even stayed off the generals chicken and the ice cream machine!

    Off to bed, goodnight!
