  • This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.
  • Morning all!! It's a great new week, right? It's nearly summer, which means we can get outside and move our bodies and enjoy the world! I hope you all get to experience a bit of that this week! And come here and post about it.
  • Wow...where do the weekends go???
I am back pop after not being 3 days last week. I am lucky to say I didnt gain or lose anything this week. I could have so easily have gained.
Im still trying to focus on avoiding carbs unless its a veggie. I really do miss my thin buns but saw that i was eating to many of them.
Exercise is great and my yard and garden are looking great! My veggies are really coming along and I think we have tomatoes on 12 of our 14 plants. I cant wait to be eating ripe tomatoes and squash. Squash plants are a bit slower coming on this year but its been cool and damp..but that has changed and now we are HOT and HUMID!
carol- I cant wait to hear all about your trip!!
heather- school will be out here this week. When does yours end?
vortex- hang in there!! You can do this!! Just think one meal at a time. Try and make it healthy!!
Thinking of walking in the a.m. before I get kids. Its going to be to hot to walk till late in the day otherwise.
  • I'm battling head hunger again. It's been winning but every day is a new day. I've planned my meals for today and I'm home this week. This could be good as long as I eat at home. It's supposed to be hot here for the next three days - that should help. I don't eat as much when I'm overheated.
  • Hang in there everyone!!! I just now wanted a snack and asked myself what I seriously wanted more: the snack or to fit in smaller clothes. Onward and downward.

Debbie -- We actually don't get out for THREE more weeks!! I can't wait!!
  • Yesterday was Good! Will try again today.
  • I had a good food day but didnt get to walk. Just as my kids were leaving the rains hit. We had a gully washer..my poor plants were drowned.
I would love to start a 6 week biggest loser workout group they are starting in my town. I found out the cost and just cant do it. I am going to try and make myself walk and workout as during their workout. I am so ready to get to the 100lb mark.
judy- try adding more protien in your diet..it has really helped me with the hungry days.
heather- I know your ready for a break from school!!

Yesterday I put on a bathing suit and hubby commented that I had worn that one for a few years now. Yes its alot smaller than my old ones but I have been in this size for over a year now. Im going to work hard to get smaller.I want new clothes in smaller sizes!!!!!
  • Judy -- WTG!!!

Debbie -- That's my motivation too!!! I was down to 173 and size 12 and now I'm back to 210 and size 18!! This. Must. Stop!!!

    Let's do this!!
  • hi everyone.
I know it has been over a year since I was here. Alot of the names look familiar, good for all of you. I was hoping I could jump back in. I am going through a lot of challenges and struggling right now. you were all such wonderful friends and support to me, i need it. I am going to have to see if I can remember my way around here again. It took me a while to try and remember my password! LOL i guess the mind doesn't remember all. Of course, I tell my kids I am going crazy. My daughter told me to put a hat on! lol I told her I agree, because there are only a few nuts left and I don't want them falling out because the squirrels are already circling and protesting on the front porch! haha
So I need to get dressed and start my day. Thanks for letting me post.
  • Welcome back, worthapenny!! You can absolutely jump back in!!!
  • Penny- welcome back you have been missed!!!
heather- I agree lets get in those small clothes. I am so sick of my 18-20s and a few items are 16s but those just dont look nice now. I want a 14 in bottoms. I am a pear shape and will be in a large top and 14 bottoms at goal. I dont want to be tiny just healthy!!!
  • OH I had a text from Carol. Sounds like they are having a blast but has ran into some fires that have closed the roads in places. Keep them in your prayers!!
  • Thanks for the update on Carol!

I think I'm going to increase the number of sessions I work out with my trainer this summer as a way to kick-start my body and mind... I need to do something different.
  • Hey, thanks Debbie and Heather for the welcome back.
  • Welcome back, Penny!

I'm hanging in. Today I ate well at breakfast, moderately so at lunch and dinner. At least I did not eat any McDonald's. I'm very McDonald's challenged at present. I need to get internet access, and McD's is the only place with decent hours! (The library hours totally overlap with when I need to be at the nursing home with my mom.) I'm here at McDonald's right now, but all I purchased was a large black coffee. That's a NSV, for me, weird though it might be.

I've been trying to get multiple short walks each day. Today was a complete success--until my foot started aching. Feels like the stress fracture when I had it in my right foot (but this is the left). I'm hoping a day or two of rest will let it heal (fingers crossed). But I really want to keep up my 30 minutes of exercise, so I'll have to find time to do some weight work, stretching, and floor exercises. I can NOT afford an injury that takes any substantial length of time to heal.

A guy just walked in who looked an awful lot like a young man I taught my first year teaching. I gave him a second look because he looked so familiar, and he saw me looking and thought I was checking him out!!! How embarrassing.

Anyway. Here's to a good food day tomorrow. I'm feeling truly concerned and desperate about the idea that I might not outlive all my current problems if I don't deal with this weight. I'd so much like to enjoy a summer in the next few years!

    Hang in there all.

    Angela
