totally off subject, but overthinking make you crazy?

  • This is totally random and doesn't have really anything to do with weight loss, sorry. I just really need to get this off of my mind. My hubby and I have been trying to have a baby the past few months. I just got off BC in january so i know it won't happen instantly. Does anyone ever start thinking about something and you research it and you find all the horrible things that could happen?
Let me elaborate. I've been reading about pregnancy and things that could make getting pregnant harder. And of course, I came across early menopause. It can effect women from the early age of 14. And I don't know about anyone else, but when I read symptoms of something, it seems like I have that symptom. Like, tiredness, memory loss, moodiness. Which those, I know, can go along with any illness. Even just being overworked.
I guess my question is, anyone else just get scared about not being able to have a child of your own? I'm planning on going to the doctor this week to talk to them about my fears of it but I just make myself crazy sometimes when I start thinking about something going wrong.
Sorry it's so long, just wondering if my fears are rational, or just a lack of sleep. lol
  • Hi :-)
I think we all have those moments when we feel like something is not right with our body even though we are in good shape. But it's a good idea to go to the doctor just to make sure -especially if u havent gone for a check up in a while. I guess it could become a problem (all those fears) when u experience them for a longer period of time and it somehow holds you back from living your life?!?
    Wish u good luck!
I hope u'll get all the babies you want!!! ;-)
  • I think just about everyone starts to find they have symptoms of things when they read about symptoms of something. It has a name and I cant remember what its called...its not the self fullfilling prophecy, its something else...its nick named "medical student disease" i think- because med students read their med books, then go to their doctors believing they have all sorts of crazy diseases So its not just you going nuts (everyone else is equally as nuts ). I get really worried when I read about stuff that could go wrong during pregnancy (which I wont elaborate on because I dont want to give you something else to worry about!) but that doesnt mean I wont try for children in the future (at least not for that reason). So I say, go to your doctor, put your mind at ease, and dont let it stop you from trying Good luck!
  • thank you both so much! it's nice to know i'm not the only person who thinks crazy stuff sometimes. and it's good to know i'm not the only person who's "nuts." lol
