  • I get the math; sure it makes sense, but in real life it's incredible

Even 20 pounds ago, 2 or 3 pounds didn't change a thing. Now, when I lose 3 pounds, I can FEEL it and I can SEE it! It's amazing! Did this surprise any of you other featherweights? Particularly those that started at a weight in the "overweight" or "obese" category?

Hopefully 6 more pounds and some toning will make all of the difference for me
  • Oh yah!! It totally ROCKS, doesn't it???

For me, I started in the obese category, and it took me 20 pounds before I could move down a pant size. It is more like 10 pounds=1 pant size, now. I'm sure that is equally attributable to my increase in exercise as it is to the weight loss.

So funny you posted this. I think I'm on the verge of busting through a plateau & can really see a difference in my body & face. WOW.

    Congrats on your awesome success!!!

  • Oh yes, definitely. I've been on a bit of a losing streak in May. I think I'm at about 7ish pounds lost for this month, which is kind of a lot for me at this point in the game (it's been more like 4 or 5 per month since about Christmas) and every 2 or 3 pounds, I notice it. My husband works away during the week, and twice now this month, I've dropped a few pounds over the days he's been gone, and when he gets back, he notices it immediately. I started the month in a UK14, and I'm starting to fit into UK 12s now. The jeans that fit me, if slightly loosely, two weeks ago are now in danger of falling off me.
  • Yes, every pound makes a difference for me now. And it's just as exciting to lose a little bit of weight as it was when I was losing 3 pounds a week.

Unfortunately, small gains make a difference. I think I may have gained 1-2 pounds in the past two weeks (don't know exactly how much- scale fluctuates) and I really notice it. But the good thing about noticing small gains is I'm taking measures to correct my eating habits.
  • It really IS just as exciting as before. When I was losing about 3 pounds/week, my motivation was TOTALLY the scale. I couldn't tell a difference in the fit of my clothes even after 15 pounds (I'm tall). Now, when I see a new number on the scale, I know that my favorite (yet still tight) pair of jeans will fit even better within the next few days. It's amazing!

I guess it is a good thing that you can notice small gains as well. When I was at my highest, well, I had no idea I was at my highest. I hadn't gotten on a scale in a while and I figured I had just been maintaining my high weight. Wouldn't you know it, I was actually about 25 pounds higher than I had thought!!
  • Definitely on a feather weight a couple of pounds makes a big difference
  • I notice ebery pound, up or down. I watch my weight like a hawk.
  • Yup! Ain't it great?
  • Yes! It makes all the difference I have a load of old clothing that I passed onto my mom when I "outgrew" them: all of it is GOAL clothing now. This week I fit into a cute pair of white cargo shorts, and I'm loving it Plus some shorts I bought over spring break are falling off me now!
  • I can totally relate to your comment. At the beggining, I was losing 1 to 2 pounds per week, now I can probably expect losing 3 pounds per month!!
Still, especially that last 10 pounds have represented more in the way I look and how my clothes fit, than the previous 20.
It continues to thrill me every time I get into a piece of clothe that I haven't wore in a long time!!!
    Congratulations on your awesome achievements!!!
  • i'm new on this forum and just wanted to say that its inspiring to see people who are/were in similar situations as me get so close or surpass their goal weights!
  • I love it!! I wake up in the morning and I feel smaller, and the scale always agrees with me!

I've lost weight in the past before, but I've never had this feeling until this time around losing weight.
  • I have lost 10 lbs and am down one pant size and it feels really good. I can't wait to lose another 10.
  • Totally! I noticed a bump on my back this morning in the mirror that wasn't there last night and thought it was a pimple. I touched it, and it was a bone! I didn't know I had a bone there!

I only have 5 lbs left until goal and I'm hoping my clothes don't get too baggy, because I'd like to keep most of what fits now.
  • It is really strange how as you get smaller every pound makes a difference. I was just on Holiday and gained 4 pounds. i can feel it! It doesn't seem like 4 pounds can make a difference, but it does!
