I bought the sally hensen no heat wax for my legs. I thought the hair seemed long enough but I put it on and it only pulled out like 2! Am I doing it wrong? Is my leg hair too thick?

Is it no heat wax in a tub, or already on plastic strips? I tried the plastic wax strips that you just put on and rip off in high school and the wax just wasn't strong enough to do anything.

To get a good wax, your hair needs to be about 1/4" long. You apply the wax going with the "grain" of your hair (away from you), apply the cloth strip over the wax in the same direction, firmly smooth over the cloth several times, then zip it back in one quick motion towards you.

i've used those stips before too and they just don't work for me! really a shame! shaving every day just sucks!

I tried that plastic strips too and that was just like putting tape on and pulling it off lol this is some green goo in a tub. I tried it on my bikini area as well cuz the hair there was even longer then my leg hair and nothing I wonder if my hair is just too thick. Any specific brands that work well?

Jumping in with the others, those strips didn't work for me either, and I have tried them in multiple brands! Generally,though, no-heat wax doesn't do much for me. I've found that a hard wax usually works the best-- the kind that you heat up and pull off with no strips. I wax pretty much everything with that-- legs, arms, armpits, and bikini area, and I don't get a lot of missed hairs.

Edit: Oh, and as for brands, Sally Hansen's Brazilian wax that comes in a blue tub works very well for its modest price, or if you are looking for a more high end product, Bliss makes one called Poetic Waxing that is wonderful as well.

Are you using Nads? That is green. Maybe you are putting on either too much OR too little. And if your hair is too short it won't grab. And you have to make sure you apply the cloth pad and rub it on well to press the wax into the cloth and your skin. Make sure you pull your skin tight.

I actually use this brand called "Parissa" from Target. I use the tub you heat up- it's not expensive and it's the best wax I've ever used personally

I also tried the wax on the strips already- pure crap- there is NO wax on them!

Okay, I have to jump in here, because I am, at this point, laughing from an old memory.

I am 42 years old, and had always used the good old fashioned razor. One day when I was about 30 or so, I decided to give waxing a try. It was..well..it didnt go well. I probably wasnt doing it right, or it was just cheap stuff, or what have you, but no matter what went wrong it was a disaster. I was almost in tears, and ended up finding and scraping bits of wax off my legs for days. The husband thought it was hilarious.

I'll shave every day. You guys can keep the wax.

Well if you ever get wax on you again just use an oily compound like makeup remover with oil and it'll dissolve the wax

I think you might be pulling the strip wrong. You don't pull up and towards you, you pull DIRECTLY back, very fast. You just rip that sucker off.

It really depends on how you pull the strip off. If you pull more up, it won't get the hair. You have to basically keep the hand that is doing the pulling parallel (and close) against your leg while ripping.

As long as your hair isn't too short, it should work. I waxed my arms once and I didn't trip the hair at all, so it was pretty long. It look me about an hour to figure out I was pulling the strip wrong. Try that and see.

But FYI, waxing at home SUCKS. I always hated it lol. I'd suggest going to a professional.... But if you figure it out and have the patience, more power to you haha.
