  • I don't know if it is a NSV or not, but man, I love getting my picture taken now. I went back on my old photobucket account and out of the hundreds of pictures up there, only a few are of me and they were taken for a specific purpose (mostly for a joke, etc.). I would avoid the camera like the plague.

It was motivating to see how big I was and the changes I've made.

I think I'll post the few before pictures I have. Without further ado, here is morbidly obese Matt

EDIT: Per request, I just uploaded a more recent photo.

  • Wow! Who is that guy in those photos? In your current pic u couldn't look more different in a blonde wig.
  • that's incredible, truly jaw-dropping.
  • Wow! You do NOT look like the same person, at all!!
  • I sure wouldn't have known that I was looking at the same guy if I didn't know better!!

    Lookin mighty fine there Matt
  • You look great Congrats
  • You were good looking before... but you are HAWT now. Look how far you have COME!!!!!
  • Wow!! You've come so far on your journey. Lookin' good.
  • Congratulations - I'd say that is a HUGE NSV, it means you've made peace with your body and image. Go Matt!
  • That is a totally fantastic NSV!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait till I reach that point. I hide behind furniture, kids, ANYTHING when a camera is out!
  • wow, very inspiring .. great job!
  • That's definitely an NSV and a great one at that!

Isn't that a great feeling? I love looking at before photos of myself and even though I cringe at some of them, it's great to see physical proof of the changes I have made in my life.

And yes, I've turned into a total camera hog!
  • Great job! Could you make the new and improved version pic too, next to your older ones, bigger? You do look handsome. The day where we don't have to run and hide from the camera in fear of frightening ourselves and everyone around us, is an awesome day. Bravo.
  • Quote: Great job! Could you make the new and improved version pic too, next to your older ones, bigger?
    Done!
  • Oh how I can relate to this. I have 20+ years of photo albums of my children and their dad. I am in SO few of those pics, it practically looks like my husband is a single dad. I avoided that camera at all costs.

And now of course I am a camera HOG.

This is going to sound weird and I could be way off base, but this has been my experience - not only do you not look like the same person, if you are anything like me, I bet you're not the same person. Well of course you ARE the same person, but again, if you're like me, this has been not just a physical change, but an emotional change, a growing experience and for me, it really did change my inner core, and my *personality*.

Regardless, I see a man who has taken charge of his life. And I really, really, REALLY like what I see. .
