I cried...right there at Meijer!

  • I had high blood pressure, right around 155/100. I was ignoring it, telling the doctor each visit, "Oh, that is high. It's never that high." And that was a lie. I was just being stubborn because I knew darn well my blood pressure was my fault. That's not true for everyone...for some it's genetic. For my husband it's genetic. But when I have high BP, it's MY fault.

I took it at Meijer today and got my lowest reading yet.

    102/60

And my heart rate? Oh my heart rate!! 54

I attribute my success entirely to hard core cardio: Spin Cycle class and running.

And that, my friends, is what this is all about!! I forget that often when the scale is not moving. But this right here...this is what it's all about.
  • WTG Elaina...you are an inspiration! Thank you!
  • Wow, that is so awesome!
  • Last night sitting on the couch doing nothing, DH took my heart rate three times and got 44, 46 and 46 again. That's a bit on the ridiculous side of low!
  • You are so right girl!! Congratulations!!

I do patient care in a local hospital while I'm finishing up nursing school and it is amazing the problems associated with being overweight. What is even more amazing is when patients are in our hospital for complications of diabetes or what have you and continue to have families sneak in foods that they shouldn't be having. I commend you and wish a lot more people would wake up and take charge of what they do have control over.
  • Eliana ... My DS is in denial too... Every time he gives blood or goes to the doc and his BP is high he says it's because of nervousness... I know better, he does too, he's a nurse for god sakes ... Someday, I hope not too late, he will see the light...
  • Woohooo!!!! Congratulations -- you rock!
