I have not been able to wear my wedding rings for a long time. They got so big on me that I was afraid that I would lose them. To celebrate getting below 200 pounds I decided to have them sized. I can size them again later if I need to. I picked them up today and am so glad to have them back.

My ring size has gone from a size 9 to a 6.5! The rings are actually still a little loose but I needed the 6.5 to go over my knuckle. My hands seem so small to me. My body may still be large but I think that I at least have normal size hands!

how awesome! I am currently a 9 as well. I can't imagine ever being a 6.5.

I still need to get mine re sized! lol

I'm going to need my wedding and engagement rings resized before long. For a long time I couldn't get them off my finger at all, but I'm now nearly 20lbs less than when I got married and they're getting loose.
I'm hoping to wait to they get very loose (but not to the point of there being a chance I'll lose them) before I get them resized.

Sad story... last year when we were working on losing weight together.. hubby lost so much weight that he lost his wedding band! Because it had gotten so loose, we had plans to buy him a new one, but I really didn't plan on "getting rid of" the original one. I was crushed.. he didn't get it "it was only a piece of metal". Guess women are much more sentimental... my rings have only been off 3 times other than to clean them or put on lotion... and that was to deliver babies by c-section (in fact I think this last time they let me wear them).

I'm not married but I like to wear rings and my fingers are much larger than you lucky ladies! I currently wear a size 10-11, and would love to just be an 8 or 9! I've had to resize my nice rings a couple of times. Even at my thinnest (high school graduation, 170 lbs.), I still wore a size 9!

Thanks everyone, it is so great to have someone to share these things with. When I told DH, I just got a blank look and a unenthusiastic "great". No skin off my back, I understand that he just does not get it.

If your rings are getting loose, be careful. They are easy to lose. I wore mine for a while with a ring guard but was afraid that I would lose them.

cfmama and Robin, 4.25 and 5.5 - Wow, you do have small hands. I would think that mine will get smaller but I may not go down in ring size because of my knuckles.

Fawn - I am sorry to hear that your husband lost his. Maybe it will turn up somewhere. A friend of mine lost her high school ring and her mother found it 20 years later when planting flowers.

asharksrevenge - I bet you will be surprised at how small your ring size gets!

I showed a coworker and friend my rings this morning and told her how excited I was to wear them again. Her less than enthusiastic response was, "Oh, you may have to have them sized up again." I did not let her get me down. I just replied, "Nope, I am not going to let that happen. I am in control now. If my rings get tight, it is a sign to me that I need to get back in control" However, it did make me realize that there are people out there that just expect me to put the weight back on. I can't blame them. I know that the statistics say that will happen but this time I am determined to keep the weight off! Even better, I have a plan that I can stick to the rest of my life!
