Doing it right this time

  • Hello all! My name is Dehlia, I'm 22 and live in Denver, doing the whole college thing.

My weight problem started when I gained a lot during my teen years. The girls in my family are known to get chubby after puberty, and throw in post-traumatic stress and depression I packed on a little more than my sisters did. For a long time I simply did not have the ambition to lose weight, but recently I've gained a new mind set and some confidence and I'm finally making it happen. I'm already ten pounds lighter as we speak

I'm taking the slow and steady route, trying to change my overall lifestyle and lose the weight gradually so I can keep it off. I'm in no hurry, but I thought this forum and site seemed like a place where I could get some unbiased support
  • welcome! you'll find a ton of resources and support here. slow n steady wins the race (or as i say, if i don't exchange the old for a new way of being with food, it will just come back when i stop the "diet"). def. check out the 20-somethings... great group with peeps in school and such.

    good luck!
  • Glad your here,I am doing the same thing, after many years of playing the yo yo game I am determined to take this weight off slow and steady.
  • Hi Dehlia and

Good for you getting to it while you're still in college. I already had weight issues at your age but went up and down (well mostly up) for years. This IS a great spot for unbiased support.

    Best wishes!
