Not sure if this qualifies as an NSV...

  • I was kinda getting bummed a bit because April is over and I've only lost a total of 3.2lbs this month.
Then I realized, May is a new month...and even if I "only" lose another 3.2lbs in May, you know what? That's 15lbs lighter than I started at in the middle of March.
Even if I "only" lost ONE pound, it's still a LOSS and not a gain.

So now, instead of being disappointed in myself, I'm trying to be proud of myself. Especially when I look at the April points thread and see how many days I stayed on plan/almost on plan.

I finally feel like I CAN do this. It might take me five years to lose the weight, but you know what? In five years I'll be 26 and I'm alright with that. The longer it takes, the more time I have to adjust to the fact that I will be living this new healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life.
  • I think that is a beautiful NSV!
  • that is SOOOOOOOOOOoooo a NSV!!!! and the best way to look at things and life long term!!!! I think that every week that goes by where there's NO GAIN is a victory, let alone THREE WHOLE POUNDS OF FAT GONE FOR GOOD!!

  • Bravo! I too have a hard time consistently losing more than 1lb a week, but the scale is going down so I should be happy with that and just strive to be healthier and get more exercise, and if I do, then I should lose more. Best not to over-analyze it too much. Sure, recognize factors that may be keeping you from losing more, but don't beat yourself up over it. More people should learn this lesson!!
  • You have a good attitude! The main thing is that you have movement in the right direction, downward!
  • WTG!
  • thanks guys :P
