New Here "Hi"

  • Hi, Just have enjoyed reading all your posts. I don't have much advice as I just don't believe that MY plan will necessarily work for the next person. My personal belief is that the reason "gimmick" diets fail is becaouse they're made for the "masses" and eating and exercising correctly for life, is a very "personal" thing. You have to figure out what will work for you and it's got to be something you'll be able to "truly" do for life. Not just the "on the bandwagon" first few weeks of "I can follow this program that has some things I don't like about it, but I'll follow for life. Those few "some things" set you up for failure. My story is the same as everyones. Diet after diet. Finally I changed to eating things I look forward to and enjoy, and I regualate the amounts. I give myself "treats" to look forward to through out the week, and I've increased my exercise. I have what I call "my little plan" that works for me. And also it's constantly changing as my likes and dislikes change and things I crave get added here and there. Well, that's about me, I weighed 300 pounds and have taken off 75. I still have a long way to go. Have had the usual ups and downs etc. Will join in when I can, but like I said, I certainly don't have any answers except for me. Nice meeting you all!!!
  • We all have to find what works for us. And any plan we follow must be "tweaked" at times as our tastes and interests and inclinations change. We are in this for life!!!

Thanks for your post, and it was nice meeting you.

    Keep up the good work.
  • Hello,
Nice to meet you! You are more than welcome to join us at Doin' it the Old Fashioned Way in the general diet plans section of these boards. We support all ladies doing the basics-eating healthier and exercising! Some of us do Richard Simmons Food Mover, some WW points, some of us just counting calories and using our own food plan. These plans give you more freedom to eat what you like, while making sure you are eating to lose weight. I am like you, in the fact that I schedule small treats into my plan-just using better judgment-like 2 Hershey's kisses instead of a whole chocolate bar.
I agree with you that what you eat is a very personal thing-everyone likes different things-so I am all for some freedom instead of a planned menu every day.
Welcome to 3FC-and be sure to use the Fast Food nutrition infor mation, diet recipes, and the other things here as well as the support on these boards! Good luck!
