Tough time getting back on plan

  • In March - I had Gall Bladder surgery - 2 weeks later, I left for 7 day cruises....so I was off plan for about 3-4 weeks total. I have been back to work for 3 weeks and have a really difficult time staying on plan. Once I started eating small amounts of carbos - I wanted more and now - I am back to eating sweets and drinking cokes etc! I KNOW I just need to get through the first 3-4 days and I won't have those cravings, feel sleepy and will be able to focus - just really, really tough. I think by verbalizing this it just might help kick start things for me!

I stopped going to the center this past month as well - was told I would be a perfect candidate for the Hormone Shots -REALLY turned me off.....so decided to take a break and try on my own.

I love this board and think there are a lot of super helpful motivating people here!
  • I am not doing MRC, but I just wanted to say I totally know how you feel and I am in the exact same place, trying to get back on plan after about a month of erratic eating. Plus I haven’t been working out.

I am ready to get those initial 3 or 4 days out of the way, too. Good luck and I have all the faith in the world that we can both do it!

(Sorry for popping in on a board I don’t “belong” on!)
  • Those first 3 days are hard.. Try starting on a Monday.. I always do so much better during the week at work. It's much more structured for me. I have my little cheats on the weekend, but for reason, I'm ok during the week.

I had this problem back in Feb/Mar from the holidays. I just started back with the basics of the program. Went off all the supplements except HNS and just ate the food.. The first couple of days were hard, but I just did one meal at a time. When you go back to eating "normal" it's really hard to retrain your brain.. Good Luck..
  • So this isn't anything I got from MRC, but in the past to get through the first couple days while dieting, I have not worried about portions, and just basically had as much lean protein and veggies as I want, so I am just really full, and less likely to eat "bad" foods because I am just plain full. Which is guess is kind of the point of pre-conditioning, so maybe you should try to do pre conditioning for a week before going back to your menu?
