My husband was just at school with our eight year old son and he bent down to give him a hug. A young, attractive female teacher walked by and said, "Awwww". She did this twice! DH called me and said, "I think I like being thinner." He said that never happened when he had more weight on him.

Yeah, my husband gets flirted with now, and it's only going to get worse

For myself, I don't find that the external validation of being flirted at is a very strong motivator, but it's definitely interesting.
