Day one, for the millionth or so time

  • Hello all my name is Meg, and I am dipping my toe in the water of getting support from (and supporting other people, of course!) on my weight loss journey.

I met with my doctor today. The blood tests that I had done last month are all normal *except* for my vitamin D. My vitamin D level is 10. I am going to add supplemental vitamin D for the next three months (3000 units per day) and get it rechecked. I have spent the winter quite ill & gained 15 pounds to boot. It has me a little down, and I am hoping that once I get my vitamin D level sorted out I start to feel a little bit better.

My plan is to go back to modified Eat to Live. I have had success with it before, and have honestly never felt better than when I was on it. One of my little ones might have a gluten intolerance, and I think that many of the eat to live recipes might be useful on our household quest to reduce the gluten in our house.

Once I lose some of my fatigue, I am hoping to get out with the stroller and walk around the neighborhood. I have also used walk away the pounds before and really enjoyed them, especially when it is cold and rainy.

It is late, and I am heading to bed, honest I just wanted to put this out there while i was feeling it!

    Take care all
  • You/we can never stop 'trying again' - because you any time you start again could be the time that sticks for the rest of your life. Glad you posted.
  • Yeah for you! Starting again (and again, and again) is the first step to making your plan a permanent way of life for you. It's like learning to walk. You just keep pulling yourself up and taking that first step. Glad to see you back here. /hug
  • Welcome! So glad you're here to join us
  • Welcome! I look forward to your posts!
  • Awesome. I think Eat to Live is the best possible way to optimal health. I'm interested in your modifications. I would like to do his 6 week program without a hitch. I feel the most difficule part is family and friend related. I almost dread dinner invites, I feel like such a pain anytime I am totally avoiding foods.
  • Welcome to the board! Sounds like you have a good plan. Hope to see you around.
  • Meg, I'm right there with you! I am just starting again and I know it can be daunting to start something over and over but I totally agree with the statement that when it finally does work, it has to be started from somewhere! I also look forward to your posts and lets cheer each other on
  • WELCOME....this place is awesome for inspiration and a way to keep you on track! VISIT VERY VERY VERY OFTEN!
  • Hang in there and "this" time will be "THE" time for you! It was for me. And I am fighting like crazy to make sure I keep it off!
  • Hey - it's only failure when you don't get it & try again, right?

I think I know how you feel. My Vitamin D was 11 last check. I am taking 50000 iu every Friday. It will be interesting to see how I'll feel at a normal level.

Even though it's April, Forward March! (sorry for the bad pun - but you know what I'm saying!)

  • It sounds like you have a plan of action! That's great!

    Post often!
