  • Hi chicks.....yesterday was a healthy day until before bed. It was a struggle all day long. I made my plan - but, nothing sounded right or good, my foot/ankle was sore from the all day fundraiser, and maybe even the fact that I had survived at least 50 temptations on Sunday. Who knows... however, it was about 300 extra calories - so, it's not the worst it could be. I was able to throw about a glass of chocolate milk after only a few sips.

Today I am planning for a good, healthy day.

Schmoodle!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so good to see you here. I've thought of you so often - hoping you were OK. I am sorry to hear of the stresses in your life. But, for all of us, that have gone through this too - we somehow carry on with healthy eating when we are able. So glad you posted.

Shout out to MJ, dgrammie, slash, rakel, rhonda, hokieloki and anyone who stops by.
  • Hello, Beverly Joy!! Thanks for the warm welcome back. You are all so inspiring, and you remind me that it isn't necessary to be perfect, but to never give up. Hello to all, and here's to a great on-plan week.

I've had oatmeal for breakfast, and here's the plan for the rest of the day:
    S: cheese stick, tomato juice
    L: Refried bean soup
    S: cauliflower with hummus
    D: Taco Bake
    S: skim hot cocoa

Not enough veggies on hand, but I'll run to the grocery store tonight and remedy that. Tomorrow I'm on the road all day, so I'll have to pack my food. I'll pop back in later today.
  • Good Morning! It is a bright sunny day here....and I'm going to be stuck at work. ICK! BUT....I will take the dogs for a walk after I go to the gym.

Beverlyjoy--Sounds like you did great overall!!! Hope you aren't too sore today.

Schmoodle--Welcome back!!!! It's so great to 'see' you!!!! I am sorry to hear about the struggles you are going through. Yep, I'm still plodding along....I have kicked it back into gear though, had biometric testing done recently. Nothing like that to open your eyes!

I am SUPER proud of myself......long story, but dh came home with two donuts yesterday afternoon. Last night I was having a cup of decaf and he decided to have a donut. He offered the other to me, which I politely declined. This morning, I noticed that the bag was in the trash (with the other donut inside). He said he felt icky last night after eating one. I am so happy I resisted.

I have my healthy lunch packed. Gym clothes are ready to go. TOM is here, so no scale for me at the moment....I'll give it a few days.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hi Friends!

Schmoodle - So good to see you!

So, I updated my ticker. It's a discouraging sight, but I needed to get honest with myself. Today, I have a horrible sinus headache and so much work to do, but no excuses. I need to regain control of my weight.

    Have a great on-plan day.
  • Hi all. Well, I survived my daughter's 16th birthday. I did cave in to the ice cream cake, and I wasn't proud of that. The only thing I really recognized was that it wasn't all that great. Definitely not worth the calories. I had a pretty good weekend of sifting through clothes. I bought some new shorts, and while I am a little discouraged that I'm not where I want to be, I'm a lot better than I was last year at this time. I was hoping to be totally able to be in the misses section, but I had to go with women's size 18W shorts. Oh well. Better than the 22's of last summer. I'll get there! I went through my clothes to get rid of some of them that are too big, too old, too ugly, etc. It was liberating!! ha!

I went to the gym this morning and made myself go back to the Body Pump class (group workout with weights). The first time I went, it killed me and it took me a long time to go back. But, it is a darn good class and I need to stay with it. I'm feeling sore now and I can imagine it will be tough tomorrow morning.

Beverly: Way to go on surviving temptation! That's good to hear!

Schmoodle: Good to see you!! I'm sorry you've been through some stuff, but stick with us, we'll help you through it all! I am so glad you're here.

MJ: Good job on resisting the donut. Those things always look good to me, but never taste that good and are definitely not a good feeling afterward!

Rhonda: It's ok! You've updated your ticker, you're ready to move on. We're close to the same weight, so let's get those numbers lower, together! I'll race you to onederland! (Ok, maybe not "race", but I'm here for you!)

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hey all! I am feeling pretty jazzed. My boss filled up her candy jar again, but I'm not going to be responsible for her having to fill any of it next time So far I have fought off any temptations to give into my sweet tooth.

    B: 4oz cultured milk & zone perfect
L: tuna melt on wheat roll with thin slice of cheddar, pickles, 1oz pretzels, and 1 stuffed artichoke heart with fresh mozzarella, basil, roma tomato and balsamic vinegar.
S: popcorn if I get hungry here at work, otherwise I'll have some raw broccoli and ranch dressing when I get home.
D,S: not sure, we need to get some groceries!!

I mentioned in the previous thread yesterday evening that some of my clothes are getting looser ... and I noticed at today too. I have size 24 jeans from Lane Bryant that fit, but for awhile they would pinch at my stomach. Today they don't! They fit rather comfortably, not too small or too big (yet!).
  • Hi chicks...yesterday was a healthy day..I stayed in my calorie range and was willing to plan and use my tools to help me get through the day. I am grateful.

Today is a quiet day - I need to do work in my office and write some letters.etc.

    today -
    fork down beetween bites
    lots of water
    no seconds
    stretches and strengthening (done!)
    plan and log food
    lots of water
    fork down between bites
    slow mindful eating
    taste food

rakel - loose pants are awesome!

slash - cake is over! I am so glad you are wearing smaller shorts this year. That is a victory.

rhonda - I hope your headache is better. I know you can do this!! One day at a time.

mj - great job staying away from the donut! Packing the gym gear is good. Take care of that knee.

schmoodle - yes, we don't have to be perfect every day (we'd LIKE to - but, take it the best we can) Hope you got your veggies! Be safe on the road.

Have a good day everyone. Treat yourself as well as you'd treat a good friend.
  • Good morning!

Well, I have to admit that I've officially lost my focus and need to get back on the ball. I have missed you all. This past month we have decided to buy a house in a very short amount of time and work has also piled up on me. No excuses, but instead of putting in all of my effort into being healthy, it seems I am more focused on buying a house and doing a good job at work.

I am proud of some things I've been able to accomplish though. I am still down around 3 pounds from my last weight watchers meeting. I will wait to change my ticker until it's "official." I have not binged. I have not stopped eating healthy foods (however, I have not been watching portion sizes as much as I would like). I have not worked out in ages though. I feel so horrible about "wasting" nearly a month now. I need to forgive myself. Move on. Get right back with the program.

I can't help but feel like I've let you all down just up and missing for a month. I am back. I refuse to return to where I began.

    Today's a new day.

    b - apple, yogurt, granola - 8
    s - banana - 2
    l - enchiladas, baked chips - 9
    s - orange - 1
    d - turkey meatloaf, brown rice, salad - 8

Exercise: Get back to the gym and MOVE...doesn't matter what you do there Brandi, just get there.

It feels good to be back
  • Brandijune!!!!!!! I am so glad you are back. We missed you.

You've had alot going on. Good for you, still being down from your WW weight.

    Happy House Hunting.
  • Brandi -- I know how you feel, I just had my day or reckoning last week after almost 2 months of no movement. Welcome back

    B: ensure & bar
    S: yogurt
L: tuna sandwhich on wheat, pretzels, 1 stuffed artichoke heart, small orange
S: popcorn and/or raw veggies with dressing
D: possibly grilled chicken with steamed veggies

I did almost an hour workout yesterday! Whooo. No movement on the scale though... and although it seemed like my clothes were getting looser, my measurements weren't any different either :\. But I think I'm due for a woosh any day now... I have been staying away from sweets and yesterday had a huge calorie deficit because I didn't even "use" all of my "allowed" calories. I was around 200+ under.
  • Hi everyone! Just a quickie post from me right now....work is super hectic, not using it as an excuse to go off plan, though!!!!

    Have a great day!
  • Hi chicks....yesterday was a healthy day. I am always grateful for that. I've lost two pounds since last week - it's exciting on many fronts - I am almost out of the 2teens and one pound away from my next mini goal.

Today I am running my mom around to her doctor appointments. My foot/ankle is sore from being on it all day Saturday. It will take some more time to 'calm' down....and icing and resting. But, I will carry on. Lots of paper work today, too.

    for me
plan and write down every morsel of food I eat
    fork down between bites
    slow, mindful eating
    no seconds, eat seated only
    try to feel fullness
    stretches and and strengthening exersices
    lots of water
    remembery WHY
    stay in calorie range

mj - I am glad that being so busy isn't derailing your efforts. Go girl.

rakel - wow, a one hour workout is awesome!

brandijune - hope you had a good day.

Have a healthy and happy day everyone.
  • Im doing good...scales are inching downward. I have decided to up my calories a bit and increase my protien and really watch my carbs.
    breakfast- english muffin with peanutbutter
    snack - string cheese
    lunch- fish fillet and veggies
snack - salad and string cheese
    dinner- chicken breast and veggies
    snack- sugarfree icecream sandwich
  • Hey everyone! Yesterday I did not do so well. I had to leave the house by 6AM and was in meetings all day. I didn't get to the grocery store Monday and so I didn't have much to pack. They ran the meeting through lunch and we didn't break until 1:30 so I admit I caved to the doughnut holes.

Anyhow, today I am home in my safe zone, there is no bad stuff here. I'll get to the store tonight.

    Here's the menu:
    B: eggs, salsa
    S: refried bean soup, V8
    L: taco bake with avocado
    S: cauliflower with hummus
    D: Steamed Cod, salad
    S: skim cocoa

mj, you go girl, resisting donuts is tough!
Rhonda, maybe I'll get brave and start another ticker.
rakel, woo-hoo, loose clothes are the best! I'm sure your whoosh is coming.
    hi dgramie!
    Beverlyjoy, congrats on the 2lbs!
Brandijune, getting yourself back here after only a month is good! I've been MIA for MONTHS. It's hard to get back on track.

The doctor's office called yesterday while I was out, probably because they've got my blood work back. I'm thinking thyroid issue. Well, I gotta run, I've got telecons all day and a document that has to go out this morning. Have a good one!
