does anyone else get hungry after working out? im trying to curb it by drinking lots of water but afterwards i still feel a little hungry. what about you guys?
I always feel hungry after I workout. When I had a personal trainer, they told me to eat. Not a ridiculous amount obviously, but to eat because its suppose to help your muscles recover.
I usually have a small meal after working out since my plan is split up into 5 small meals + 1 bigger one each day. Usually it's oatmeal because it's so filling that I find it fills the void nicely.
I exact opposite happens to me, I feel stuffed after working out. I can not eat for 10 hours, be starved, go for a 20 minute run, and then I'm so full I can't look at food.
Of course I'm hungry--I just burned a meals' worth of calories!
I always eat within an hour of a workout. I work afternoons, so I can eat lunch at 11 if I finish my walk/run at 10. On weekends, if we plan to go out for dinner, I'll time my exercise around that. I don't think this is a bad thing; we need that fuel to repair our muscles so we're not weak and sore the next day.
I'm not really hungry after a workout. I have a light snack before my workout, and it's not like the exercise made me digest my food faster. Plus I'm careful about it because "studies" say that people tend to eat more when they exercise because they think they can (if that makes sense) and they end up eating more than they worked off. I'm paranoid about falling into that pattern so I'm very careful about my eating habits.
