New to the forum

  • I'm so glad I found this forum!! I belong to many other forums but this one is the only one I'm actually on for myself.

    I'm Kari, 28 years old and a mother of 3 from Texas. My childrens ages are 6, 4 and 7 months. I gained about 25 lbs when I was pregnant with my first child but I reached my highest weight on my third pregnancy where I reached 180 lbs. I weighed 135 before I had kids. I'm down to 156 right now but have been told my ideal weight is 129. I joined weight watchers Monday and am hoping it will help me get back to a healthy weight for myself.

  • Welcome! Isn't it hard to find time to honor ourselves with kids? I love how you say this is the only site you are on for yourself. We need that as moms!

  • Hi Kari. I'm new on here as well. I gained about 30 lbs over the past year. I try to make excuses for it and say it's because i had a complete hysterectomy last year, or the fact that a month after that i got custody of my 12 day old neice and was stressed with all the custody stuff, ( which made me wanna eat), or the fact that my daughter is 17 and I'm sad she will be leaving me in a year for college, i have a thyroid condition which makes it harder to lose weight and i have to take heart meds now for some reason... so,i try to use all of those reasons to make me feel better when i over eat or wanna go out to get icecream or something. terrible I know.. I think now that we joined this forum we will take time to realize how important we are in our families lives and how important our health should be to us. We deserve to take some time to focus on ourselves and if its just as simple as logging in and getting encouragment from our friends on here to make us a happier , healthier person than so be it..
