Felt like an intro would be cool :)

  • When I was born my mother had to give me special formula to help me gain weight.. well as I got older, I didn't have that problem anymore... not at all. When I was 12 I was in 7th grade I hit the 190 mark and by the end of freshman year I was 209. We had moved the summer before my 8th grade year and I was fortunate that moved right down the street from a lady with a home gym and a background in personal training. Of course, it took me 2 years to utilize this.

I used to be somewhat shy and have definitely had very low self esteem. So, when freshman year was coming to a close, I decided to see if the neighbor would trade me babysitting for workouts. She agreed. In 2 months I lost 30lbs. I was on a very strict low sodium diet and worked out 5 days a week. Toward the end of the summer I stopped working out with her. I weighed 170 lbs but quickly gained back 10. That year guys started to notice me and I began dating.. which became rather emotional for me and I just completely let myself go and didn't seriously try to do anything about it for almost 4 years.

Now, I am 19.. as of yesterday. At the beginning of March I grew tired of going nowhere or doing nothing. I stepped on the scale it was the heaviest I have ever seen myself 249 POUNDS!!! I was horrified. So, I made that my motivation to get this weight off. In my first month I lost 19 lbs. Started April off pretty good going from 230 at the end of March to 228 in the very beginning of April (April 3rd) Fyi.. I only weighed sat because I got a new scale and was trying to figure out how it works.. My real weigh in is every Monday.. But anyways.. That's my life in a nutshell.. sorry for the novel. lol

  • Congratulations on your new journey! Looks like you are doing super well! Dont ever be sorry for your words on here. The novel is what we love to read! Best wishes! Angela
  • Thanks
  • Well done so far.
You've really got to just keep at it, and the most important piece of sdvice that i can give, is that even if you slip, start each day like it is going to be a good one.
It is possible to lose weight and keep it off - this is a great website to remind you of that!!!!

    Good Luck
  • Congratulations on already losing 21 pounds - that is great.

Ellie R - I love your line "start each day like it is going to be a good one". How great is that? Thanks, I really needed that today.
  • I agree with Volleyballsis that is a really good line That's what I try to do now because every time I used to try to diet I would slip up and get so down on myself i'd give up. It feels a lot better to work through it and accomplish something
  • Welcome to the site, and it's true, most of us love a good book It is going to be worth it, every little bit. Good luck, you're off to an amazing start.
