I've been doing slimming world for 6 weeks now, and I'm sure you'll get the hang of all the green/red day stuff quite quickly. Most people seem to have it all sorted out within a week or two. I only do green days though myself, as I'm a vegetarian.
As for recipes, there are quite a few places you can look.
The slimming world website -

There's an msn group dedicated to Slimming World, you'll find quite a few recipes there too.

Last but not least, you can buy the magazine in class for £1.40, which contains recipes, success stories etc. It only comes out every 2 months though. And there are recipe books available to browse/buy in class.
