Lost about 16lbs but I still look the same

  • Im happy that im lighter, Im literally 4lbs from being out of the 200;s and into the 100's. But its kind of depressing that I still look the same =[
  • I've lost 21 and the only difference I can tell so far is that my pants are getting bigger. Just be patient. Sometimes it takes a while and then your body will suddenly look a lot different in what seems like overnight. Keep on going and you'll see.

  • You’ll probably be the last to notice! I’ve lost about 40 pounds and I still can’t tell sometimes. I don’t want to discourage you though…16 pounds is a good bit of progress and I’m sure other people can tell! It just takes a little time for our minds to catch up with our bodies and really register the changes. Keep up the good work!
  • It took me about 25lbs to see some difference.

So true! I didn't see anything for the first 25 pounds or so, but now all of the sudden I almost feel thin (at 32 pounds). Also, it's true that you'll probably be the last to notice. Everyone I know has been saying since about 5 pounds that I look thinner in the face, but I still haven't noticed.
  • Don't give up. It takes a while in the begining. Someone once said it's like a role of paper towels. When you start using the role you can't really tell you've taken any sheets away, but once you get to the end you can tell immediatly when you take away a paper towel. It's because as you get smaller every lb is a larger % of your overall weight. In the beginning I couldn't really tell until about 30 lbs in, now every 5 lbs or so people are like are you losing weight???? So just hang in there.
  • A few years ago I lost about 20 pounds and I thought I looked EXACTLY the same even though my clothes were smaller. The only way I could tell was by looking at my pictures.
  • I didn't really start noticing a difference in myself into about 40lbs. I was losing inches before, but I was having trouble seeing any difference. Now I can definitely tell. My stomach doesn't poke out as much anymore, and my legs and face look a lot better. It also took sitting in places that used to be a tight squeeze to make me realize just how much weight I had lost. It's like my brain wasn't catching up with my body.

Anyway, just give it some time. Other people might notice small changes before you do because you look at yourself every day. My boyfriend told me he could tell some difference after I lost 20lbs, but I couldn't see it.
