One day down - rest of my life to go....

  • Ok I am determined this will not be a passing thing - cc'ing is a way to teach myself portion control especially when it comes to fatty processed food.

But today, my first day, pretty much sucked! I'm hungry - I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong, or if this is just something I need to get used to but it made for a most unlovely day!

1400 calories was my budget, I stayed in it - that makes me happy and here's to hoping this is easier tomorrow!

Goodnight all and thanks for letting me fuss!
  • Good Luck to you and congratulations on getting through your first day
  • It does get easier. Think about it...after however long of eating whatever you wanted, whenever you were physically, mentally or emotionally hungry, you're now telling yourself NO! It will take some time to retrain your mind and body to what you want it to do now...but the results are worth it! Stick with it!
  • Congrats on making it through your first day! I'm not sure what foods you're eating, but maybe you aren't eating the right foods? I mean you could just have a small meal thats really high in calories but not very filling. Or you could have a larger meal with lower calorie/higher fiber foods that will keep you full. Are you getting enough fiber and protein? Drinking water will also help with that. I'm not sure of your current weight but you could always up your calories a little bit. I zig zag mine between 1400 and 1600 and I'm still losing weight. I hope some of this might help you..Good Luck!
  • It gets easier and you'll learn which foods make you feel fuller longer and which ones leave you feeling unsatisfied or hungry again 30 minutes later. Just stick with it. It will be worth it.
  • I think it takes a long time to get use to eating less. But after awhile, I noticed that I liked feeling hungry before a meal. I like how I felt over all once that nice thin inside feeling came. That helped me continue day after day until it is now very much a part of my life at this point. Sending you good vibes to encourage you to make it all the way to goal!
  • Thanks!
Thanks for the support - it really does help! Sorry to be a whiner in my first post, yesterday was a rough day!

Today was much better - I bumped up the protein and water HUGE DIFFERENCE

I think my body is just adjusting to not constantly noshing, it's not so much being hungry as not constantly being full. Does that make sense? For the first time in a while I came to meals really hungry and felt myself filling up instead of topping off! What a difference...I'm am so excited about this!
