Ok so now that it's spring and I have NO clothes that fit, I decided to take my small(er) butt shopping and the NSV is... everything looked great. As in... everyyyything!

I'm not one to gloat (normally), and I could never share this with friends, but it's seriously a problem! I wanted to buy EVERYTHING. The problem is that it will make me broke!!

My first inclination is to just try the first thing on, and if it looks good, thank my lucky stars and buy it. Now, everything looks SO much better than before; no bunching, lumping, awkwardness! Today, for the first time in my entire life, I purchased leggings and a denim MINIskirt!! Unbelievable!

Is anyone else going through this now that they are buying clothes for a new season, clothes that are more revealing.. for the first time in a long time or EVER??

I went through that this/last week.

I'm still quite overweight, but I had a run of good luck with dresses and things at Ross and I wanted to buy lots. And I'm not normally a dress person!

ohh i feel you ... im still very over weight (5'6) 220'S but now that im fitting into ( the largest size ) regular sizes (16/XL) i want to buy evreything ... its a problem ... but i will say im now spending money on clothes rather than food i almost rather shop than eat ! how do skinny folks do this ?? no wonder there skinny there not eating !!! why waste valuable shopping money ! lmao

This so happened to me recently! I had a gift card to target that I've been saving since xmas w/ $200 on it. I finally broke down because all my clothes are just getting too big. So I went with the thought, ok...I'll maybe find a few things and still have some left over for later...well...I spent another $200 on top of my gift card...$200 that I REALLY don't have to spend right now. But EVERYTHING looked amazing! And I can were things I couldn't wear before or didn't feel comfortable so that really opens up my options! Sadly I should have gotten more dresses because they are more forgiving to weight changes because some of the stuff is already starting to get a tad loose, but luckily most stuff I bought was snug so it should last a bit.

I have this problem to an extent. I'm definitely more enthusiastic about shopping, and I like how the clothes are fitting better.

However, I still have two handicaps with shopping: 1) An entire youth of wearing frumpy jeans, oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts, and active wear, I simply do not have a sense of fashion. I go into stores, and everything looks good on in the posters and on the displays, but I'm never inclined to try the stuff on. I always think "I'd never wear that" or "what would I even wear with this?" So when I shop, I limit myself to dresses and jeans. I have no idea what else to try on. And 2) I can feel uber hot in front of my own mirror at home, but for some reason, dressing room mirrors are NOT flattering to me. I don't know if it's the lighting, or what, but it seems like there's a spotlight on every bump, lump, stretchmark, and bulge. Also, I get all flustered and gross when I shop, and taking clothes on and off doesn't help my look. I just feel like a frump when I try on new clothes which doesn't inspire me to get adventerous, lol.

Yes. This is the story of my life.

It doesn't get better, I'm sorry to say. The only hope you have is not going to the mall. Even then, there's online shopping... :-(

Hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one shopping hubby and I into bankruptcy lmao! I can't even imagine how I'll be once I get to goal and know that all of my clothes are for keeps! I'm gonna have to go to shopaholics anonymous!

yeah i have that mentality too. the first thing that fits and looks okay, BUY IT! cuz i keep thinking i'll never be able to find another one in ages, and it usually is true anyway.

im sure its gonna get worse as i lose weight. more choices, more choices..

Oh yes. this is a huge issue.

It's so hard to decide to what to buy since EVERYTHING looks, ummm, well - TERRIFIC!! Outfit after outfit after outfit. Back in the day, I had to always settle for the thing that looked the least awful. Now when every thing is a winner, it's really, really hard to not bring home - everything.

I have taken up every square inch of space in this house with all of my clothing. I'm in everyone's space.

I figure I have it coming to me. I've got lots to make up for.

Hehehe you gals make me feel normal. This is the third day in a row I've bought myself clothing!!

But... it's only because I had time off from school for spring break and I had some extra time. Now (hopefully) I won't have as much time to shop. I think I now have a good amount of spring basics that will last me a little while. I still have 10 to 20 more pounds to go though so it's difficult to gauge.

Anyway, every time I bought something I thought of you ladies and the fact that 1) I'm not spending anywhere near what I used to spend since I don't really go to restaurants etc, 2) I DESERVE IT after losing 90 pounds (as of this morning officially), and 3) I really had/have no clothes that fit lol! And all of these wonderful (and mostly true) excuses I got from you guys!!!

Congrats on your weight loss accomplishments!!! You deserve it all for your hard work.
