I started the 5 & 1 Medifast diet plan 3 days ago. First 2 days was good, I wasn't hungry at all. But right now, I'm at work and I'm starving! I can't concentrate on what I should be doing. I just got done eating lunch an hour ago so i have to wait a while before my next 'meal'. I am not sure what to do. I don't want to break the diet because I've already lost 2 pounds. I drink 2+ liters of water a day, and it doesn't seem to supress my appetite. Any have any ideas on what I can eat that will make these hunger pains go away ?? Or is this my bodys reaction to eating smaller portions and it will eventually go away?

I did optifast years ago and lost a lot of weight. If you can get through the next couple of days you should be fine. Once my body accepted it I was full of energy and never thought about food. If you get to the point where you know you are getting close to going on a binge just have an extra meal or snack. As long as you stick to the plan, even if you eat a little more at first you should be fine. Other than that, if you can bury yourself in a project at work that might help. When you get home you need to try and find fun distracting things to do. Crafts are good as they keep your hands busy. I often found myself laying on my stomach watching TV, reading or even knitting as I didn't feel as hungry in the position.
Hang in there!! You are off to a great start. First few days are always the hardest.
Since you just began you are allowed to add a shake or extra meal in so you are not starving. You need time to adjust, still. I had to do that and just the extra soup or shake helped fill me up.
You could also munch on something like celery or radishes. I would cut them up into bites to make it last longer. Sometimes the missing element can be the "crunch" of food.
