WOMAN AIMS TO BECOME WORLD"S FATTEST WOMAN

    http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/102...worlds-fattest
  • That is seriously the craziest thing I ever read, umm to each their own I guess, although she might die before she reaches her "goal" ICK!
  • Yeah, I posted her yesterday in the general chatter thread. It's unbelievable isn't it. Her poor daughter.
  • Susie! You beat me to it! I had *just* read that article and copied the link to come paste it here!

I don't know what to think. I know that in this country we have the freedom to pursue happiness in whatever mode makes us happy unless it harms others. I feel sorry for her daughter having to be motherless. The article posted the information of the other women in this "club". They are all dead! Sad, sad, sad!

The thought of being so big that I couldn't move, couldn't wipe myself, couldn't sit up in bed...being so big that some freak somewhere "pleasured himself" while watching me eat a 4500 calorie meal ((she makes a living off of her website that people pay a monthly subscription to watch her eat)) just makes me feel sick.

There is a whole sub-culture of "Fat Fetish" people. I'm not talking about guys that like their girls with a little meat on their bones but rather people who really find sexual pleasure in being a "feeder" or someone who keeps a large woman and provides her with mega calories causing her to gain a ton of weight. I think people who find sexual interest in people of this size suffer from a "parafilia". I don't know what you'd call a person who wanted to eat themselves to death. Suicidal?

I am really working on not judging others, I promise! But this just seems like an odd form of abusive relationship. Being in a relationship with someone who will love you only if you do something that is killing you. I wonder what her husband would do if she changed her mind and decided to be healthy and fit?
  • That's like that place called "The Heart attack cafe"

I started watching food network and this place just disgusted me by the end. They actually let you eat there for FREE if you weigh over 350 lbs!
  • I know what to think -- it's AWFUL!

and to describe herself as healthy means that she's severely delusional because even if she's been lucky enough to avoid obesity-related disease (which I don't even believe anyway), she's clearly VERY mentally ill.

I feel badly for the daughter, she's the only real innocent one here. Even the bf is messed up big time by being complicit with this goal.
  • She is ill. It's terrible.
  • I did wonder...

if child protective services would step in at some point? I know the article didn't say they were fattening the baby up but I remember reading an article once about a family that lost custody of their 9 year old daughter because she weighed something like 200 lbs.

When the state had the little girl in foster care she had consistently lost weight but after the family petitioned to get her back, she began to gain again. The state stepped in after the 3rd month of consistent weight gain back in the home. I remember there was some weird quote by the mom, something like..."What am I supposed to do? She likes to eat. She gets mad if we don't give her what she likes."

I would imagine that now that her goal has been made public and her face, name, hometown info has gone world wide there will be some huge backlash and her family will be under scrutiny by the New Jersey Dept of Children and Families. I don't envy her for many many reasons!
  • I suspect she is codependent, and he is a fat fetishist. To me, it sounds like she is modifying her body to please her husband.
  • Most people would choose to be healthy over insanity. I'm from New Jersey too so I will let you know if she down my way.

    Sharon
  • Wowza! *shakes my head*
  • Awful!!!
  • and has she thought about how hard it will be to lose once she "wins" this crazy quest? As others have said, she could well have a heart attack before she meets her "goal"
  • I hope she comes to her senses before it's too late.

That's the strangest thing I've ever heard. o_0
  • I had a friend who wanted to gain weight and consistently overate in order to achieve this goal. We stop talking due to other reasons so I don't know how she is doing. I didn't really understand it then. But she liked the feeling of carrying extra weight, enjoyed it when her pants were tighter than the day before and liked giving herself an excuse to eat to excess.

I think there is some sort of validation from what she is doing. There are TLC shows popping up every week on people with the same weight-ranges. She'll have something, i guess, when she is done. I think its a little crazy, but people do crazy things...
