Pulled hamstring--a cautionary tale

  • Look out for "trail rage"---your own that is!!

I went out Saturday for my long run on a local running/walking trail which has a creek running through it and a bridge across. The bridge is narrow but 2 people can pass if neither is severely obese. Walkers are usually kind enough to step to the side and let runners pass.

So I was running and a lady stepped on the bridge ahead of me and walked very slowly smack dab in the center. She was not very large and I could have gotten around easily, had she moved over.

You know sometimes when you are driving behind a slow driver and they turn off and you gun it? Well I gunned it when we got across and must have put my left foot in a small depression because the next thing I knew I felt a sharp pain down the back of my leg.

So the moral of the story is: don't give in to irritation with slower folks, you may be the one who suffers!

(The leg is better today, I was able to walk on the treadmill--will try running later in the week)
  • Ooh sorry to hear that! Hope that ham string is back in perfect working order soon!
