I have PCOS and I find that food does not effect acne. It's hormones and it just sounds like your's are out of whack. My acne will flare up at any time and there isn't one thing that makes it go away. I drink strictly water all day - at least 5x 16.9oz bottles. If I can stomach more I try to drink it but it's hard. I thought the water consumption will really clear things up but I haven't really noticed a difference but it could be because I am living in my own skin and who notices the subtle changes in themselves? I don't. I know I am not much help but I really don't think there is much if anything in your diet that will give you acne. I really believe it's hormonal.
Now, I would much rather contend with the zits if it means I wouldn't have the hair growth. It's really annoying. I will say, however that since I have started losing weight, the periods are regular again and that patch of flaky dry skin that used to really gross me out on my rib cage is gone. I am hoping that further weight loss will make more PCOS systems go away.
OMG! I have that now. The little patch of dry skin on the left side on my rib cage. I got it once before but it went away. This patch I just noticed a couple of days ago. Hmmm .... So is it something normal like the facial hair??
It doesn't hurt to lose the processed foods, but the acne stems from hormones being out of whack.
A good cleansing routine can help somewhat with the redness, but even then I still get it.
Addressing the hormone imbalance will do more to resolve it.

I have HORRIBLE acne, too.. but when I was a size 5 I had very little acne. So i attribute it to carrying too much estrogen in my fat cells... losing the weight should really control it.
