Not a pear, or an apple or an hour-glass?

  • I know this is trivial, but does anyone else find themselves not fitting into any of the above mentioned categories? I'm more of a rectangle I think?
  • Me too - Wide shoulders, no chest, a moderate waist, and the only butt I have I built inch by inch through 10 million squats and lunges.

This seems to referred to as an "athletic" body type in some articles.
  • Trinny and Susannah (from What Not to Wear) put up a new body shapes guide a while ago. They list 12 instead of the usual 3. Maybe one of them suits you better?

I can't post a link but Google "trinny and susannah body shapes" and it should come up.
  • When I took some courses in Image Consulting many years ago ... there were 4 shapes ... A, V, H and 8. You'd be an H.
  • Well, I am very surprised, but according to Trinny and Susannah I am absolutely an hourglass! I'm shaped just like that model. I guess I always pictured Marilyn Monroe or other movie start types as an hourglass.

    Well, what do you know!
  • here is a thing to look at ~maybe your a banana Shape. I am an apple.
just click it to make it come up bigger.

  • Susie... Me too! I sat there on my bed staring at the screen going "That's me. Holy crap that's me. Really? REALLY? That's me! I look exactly like that!!!" My boyfriend didn't understand the excitement. Pfft.
  • According to Trinny an d Susannah I'm a "skittle," whatever that is. (a bowling pin?) That looks pretty much like me, short legs and all. I like that they have 12 shapes. When you think of the usual four, I guess I'm an hourglass, but I'm really not all that curvy.
  • Sounds like your're a banana, Susie
  • Yep still an Apple... I was looking forward to telling people that I was another object but I guess I will stay in the produce section.
  • Lori & Dippy Chip: I really looked at the banana shape, but my hips are much too big to be a banana.

Even on Dippy Chip's site I'm an hourglass. My waist just never really dipped in very much so I thought I couldn't be an hourglass. But that is me! I have broader shoulders and a moderately large bust. It was just my waist that kept me thinking I was just straight down, but I'm shaped exactly like the model on Trinny & S's site and almost exactly like the one on your site, Dippy Chip.

I'm really glad to know I'm an hourglass too, Natalie! I'm glad I asked this question!!
  • I found a cool site last night that gives you your body shape based on measurements: http://bodyshapestyle.com/2008/04/26...dy-shape-am-i/
  • those shapes are interesting - with those options, I'm actually a goblet, instead of an apple with big boobs.

I am posting the link on your behalf - I hope that's what you meant: Clicky

I don't fit into of the usual categories either. A while ago, we had a similar discussion here on 3FC and I joked that I am like Jessica Rabbit (sans the mane of long red hair) - tall, big boobs, not really much of a waist, narrow hips and legs up the vazoo.
  • I think I am actually a BANANA. Google it!
