  • Hey ladies!

I am finally out of the worst of the morning sickness fog, and my appetite is back with vengeance! I was wondering what some of your favorite snacks are these days?

Today I discovered that if I put my yogurt cup (Activia Cherry Cha Cha - SO creamy and delish!) in the freezer for one hour or so and mix it up, it makes a delicious frozen yogurt treat!

    Any other nutrient rich ideas???

    Thanks in advance!
  • I've been snacking on fruit, yogurt and granola bars. I'm interested in other ideas though.
  • I like yogurt with some dried (or fresh) fruit and a little granola. Spices it up a little. I like cheese with apples or pb on apples, big salads with balsamic vinegarette are favs right now, celery with a little lite cream cheese, a small bowl of cereal... that's all I can think of off hand.
  • One of my faves while I was pg was homemade hummus on ack mak crackers...heck I still love it now, DS1 and I have it a lot for snack.

I craved Lima beans I think I went through 8-10 bags of frozen limas during the first 6 months of my pregnancy lol I'd just heat them up and eat them for snacks.

Veggie strips and hummus (bell peppers, carrots, snap peas)

cream cheese on ak macks is really good too

1/2 of an everything bagel with cream cheese and a slice of ham or turkey

Cottage cheese with peaches or berries
  • MeganBeth - what are ack mak crakers?

Yup those...mmm yummy I have to buy more today DS is already throwing a fit we don't have any for lunch
  • I can't believe I forgot about Ak-Mak crackers! I grew up in the town where they make Ak-Mak. I love them. I usually eat them with peanut butter or cheese.
  • Hmm... usually some cheese, or a spoonful of peanut butter and some fruit is a good default for me.

same here. I like snacking on almonds as well.
  • Depending on how many calories you're looking for, I have found oatmeal is a good snack for me. You can get Quakers lower sugar oatmeal packets that are 120 cal each. I think the apples and cinnamon ones are 110.

I put way more water in it than the directions say and just keep stirring it so it's really soupy. It feels like a lot of food for 110 calories. And it's hot and comforting and just sweet enough. It basically feels like a whole extra meal, lol. Way more satisfying than a granola bar or 100-cal snack packs or something.
  • Cheese and almonds have been a standby for me.
  • I love garden of eatin black bean tortilla chips and organic salsa (forget the name of it) and Hummus is delicious with pita bites
  • Hi, i'm 11.5 weeks and this is what i've been snacking on

    dried apricots
    string cheese
    peanuts
organic granola (mix with yogurt sometimes)
    glass of milk
    baby carrots
    lots of fruits and veggies

my what to expect when expecting book said to eat yellow fruits like mangos and apricots. All the dried mangoes i found have a lot of added sugar but the apricots didn't.
