  • I got this idea from a vlog and thought it was a good idea for a challenge.

So we all know that permanent weight loss is, for the most part, about slowly changing the way you do things regarding eating and activity.

The "change one thing" challenge is about choosing one current unhealthy habit which, on it's own, you can change easily for 1 month. now hopefully at the end of that month it will have become a habit of it's own and you can move on to change another one thing.

Now this could be anything, like cutting out a certain food, reaching a certain number on your pedometer each day/week etc

Hopefully by changing one thing every month, you will eventually have enough healthy habits to keep you on track for the rest of your life

So, what one thing would you like to change for March?

For me, i've been doing well with not drinking pop, Diet coke to be specific and I feel loads better without it. Though i do still get the cravings from time to time.
  • Great idea! I am going to track everything I put in my mouth. I try, but I always slack on it. Time to do it for real. =]
  • To go to the gym a minimum of three times a week. I'm a work-out slacker!
  • Work out 2x during the week instead of just on weekends.
  • Hmm.. there are lots of things I need to change. One big one that stands out to me is when I get off track it takes a long time to get back on. I need to be more firm on staying OP. If I have one splurge meal that is where it needs to end. Not a splurge DAY!
  • Hmmm...I like this too. I actually want to do the same thing as bama girl. I have a journal that I bought specifically to record and plan things. My goal for March is to record everything I eat!
  • I think this is a great idea!

I'm a total workout slacker...like as in...I don't work out at all. My goal for this month is going to be at least 2 times a week. If I can do that, then maybe next month's goal will be 3 times a week =D
  • So many things!!

I guess my biggest obstacle that I need to start with is exercise. I need to at least get in 15 minutes of true exercise daily, not just the stuff I do at work.
  • One of my biggest unhealthy habits is being sedentary- even though I exercise 300+ minutes a week, I don't feel like I get enough movement outside of exercise.

Because one of the things I can do, in my apartment, to move around in between spurts of studying is playing Wii Fit Plus, I'm going to commit to burning 100 calories on the Wii at least four days a week. That'll get me up and moving in the middle of the day.
  • These are all great ideas guys.

Remember it can be ridiculously easy. In fact the easier the challenge is the better!

i've been off coka cola for 11 days now, and *cross fingers* I believe my cravings have stopped nearly all together
  • That's awesome Ali87! I also have not had any coke now since I started the diet on Monday! I am surprised because I use to have at least one a day and now it's already thursday and I haven't had any. I guess I just knew I couldn't have them so my mind kinda blocked them out cuz I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THEM!!!! Can you believe it??? How weird is that?
  • I’ve been thinking about doing this!! I kind of want to try something new and push my boundaries a little bit…but I’m having trouble picking something. I don’t want to try to cut out sugar completely because I look forward to a little treat every day and I don’t want to try to be a vegetarian (would miss my chicken)…

So maybe taking the stairs three times a day at work instead of just two?
  • Bring my lunch to work/school at least 4 days a week will be mine I think.
  • i love this! a great way to change something small and specific to hopefully make a huge difference.

i'm fine eating at home, but i went i got to restaurants, i have to get the most unhealthy things to eat and eat the entire plate. probably because i want this to be my only bad meal for a while, but it gets bad when i start going out to eat 3+ a week.

i'm gonna start taking home boxes when eating out.
  • Portion control!
