  • So I am becoming a work out junkie and am wondering- what exercises do you all love and why? I think this can give us all some new ideas on our exercise routines!

Personally for me my favorite is the 45 minute Spin Class I go to. I love it because it is fun, helps me set non-scale goals, and really pushes me hard. On top of this I have really seen positive results- inches lost in my waist and just overall better fitness level. I love this class so much that I crave it after work- it really helps me wind down and makes me feel soooo good!

So what is your favorite excercise and why do you love it?

  • Hiking, even if it's doing the same circular hike in a county park. I get so much emotional peace from fresh air time that even when I started out 72 lbs ago huffing and puffing, it was worth it.
  • I was just saying to my husband last night that I never in my life thought I'd ever see the day when I could say that I actually enjoy going to the gym LOL

By far my favourite is my gym Body Pump class. It's strength training with weights. It's hard work and I ache for days after each class, yet for some reason I still love it! After just two months, I already can feel my muscles building (albeit under quite a bit of fat, yet) for the first time ever in my life.

Do you go to the Y? I think they have a body pump class at mine I will have to try it out!

Also- Hiking is great! One of my goals is to climb a 14'er this summer when I go home to Colorado! Cant wait!
  • Running. outside if possible. with my ipod. clears the mind wonderfully.
  • HIIT! Hands down, this one is by far my favorite. It's short, to the point and highly effective both in fat burn and in getting my resting HR lower and my BP lower.

My favorite resistance exercise is the Plank. Also short and highly effective!

    I go to GoodLife Fitness
  • HIIT hands down. Feels so good afterwards.
  • Running, but I can't right now because of a knee injury.
  • What is HIIT? I have not heard of that one yet. Anyone have a link?
  • HIIT- high intensity interval training

  • I also love running to loud music. I get so pumped up, and then relax so good afterwards. Especially with it so dark in the winter, I really crave it. But I definitely don't trust strangers when I've got headphones in so I always always run inside. It's not the best for getting fresh air, but it's so much safer
  • The Stepmaster by Stairmaster; it provides the best workout I have ever experienced.

I also like Body Pump but my favorite is Body Attack. I'm trying Body Combat tonight, anyone done this?

I haven't tried either, because my gym only offers those classes during the day right now, and I can only get there in the evenings. I'm hoping that will change with the schedule change at the end of March.

My friend LOVES the Combat class, though!
