30 day shred, zumba, turbo jam, gilad, the list goes on!

  • hi all! i'm new here and this is my first post on 3FC. i'm totally loving the wealth of information on various diets and everything else inbetween!

ANYWAY, i'm writing here because i'm overwhelmed by which exercise dvd i should follow (dumb question?). i'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what worked for them, if they noticed results such as: weight loss and if you became toned, etc. i'm a exercise junkie, i am easily swayed by various workout dvds, hence i now have a collection of turbo jam, zumba, 30 day shred, a couple of old firm videos, kettlenetics, gilad quick fit system, and taebo (the one with the weighted bar). i'd like to know if any of you have tried any of these and which one would you suggest?
  • I'm totally addicted to Turbo Jam. This is what helped me lose most of my weight. Then I moved to ChaLEAN extreme (same woman as Turbo Jam), which uses heavy weights and it toned me up big time. ButI also love Gilad. I rotate his dvd's in once in a while. It's not as challenging but it's a nice change. I did Tae Bo years ago but after a while I got bored with Billy Blanks. I felt like he did things too fast and didn't use proper form. But overall I feel it's best to mix up your workouts so I think you should use them all! And changing your workout routine every 30 days will keep your muscles challenged too. Good luck!!
  • YES, it is overwhelming with all of those fitness videos out there! I usually give @ least every video a trial one week run and see how I feel after wards, I want to utilize my work out time the best, its the worst feeling when you think that maybe the work out video is not helping you get the best results as another workout video might. With that being said, I suggest doing the 30 day shred video in combination w/a taebo video. I have been using those 2 videos now for about 2 weeks and I am seeing some great results. Both of the those videos have a good mix of cardio and strength/endurance exercizes. The 30 day shred video is great since its just under 30 minutes and so right after I go into a Tae Bo Cardio video that is about 45 mintues. It equals out to 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the feeling and workout I get is better than @ a gym.
  • I liked your post Tiffany, especially about mixing it up.

I guess it's a trial and error thing!

I am NOT a fitness video fan, I'd rather be outide. On that note, I really feel like the 30 Day Shred is a good addition to my routine. It goes by very fast, too!
  • One fitness DVD i have that i am in love with is Budokon by Cameron Shayne. It crosses martial arts with yoga and meditation. It touches cardio, strength and then promotes relaxation.

You can always check these out from the library or Netflix if you seem to want to mix things up too.
  • Wow, thanks you guys! I didn't expect to have any response! I like the idea of "combining" a coupld of dvds, as well as incorporating "outdoor" activities with a dvd! Perhaps I'll give these AT LEAST a one week trial!

By the way each of you have had such a tremendous weight loss! I am SO jealous! =)
  • I've been on both 30DS and P90X this week, because I'm at the end of 30DS. I think I prefer 30DS, because I really feel it working, and I love that it's so short and you don't need any equipment other than weights. I'm a very independent fitness person, so I like to either go to the gym, run on the treadmill at home, etc. Fitness videos, for some reason, have never got into my repetoire. So I'm pleased with the results so far.
